Childress not concerned about Harvin

Vikings Brad Childress expressed no concerns about the fact first-round pick Percy Harvin was sent home from the NFL’s rookie symposium last month because of illness, but the Vikings coach did confirm the wide receiver is going to have to attend the event next year.

“You always worry about health concerns and making sure you get those things taken care of,” Childress said when asked about Harvin. “He’s going to be there next year and he may be even speaking next year because he’ll have a lap around the track at that point and time. He’ll be able to lend a different perspective for all those rookies.”

Harvin also missed the Vikings’ rookie minicamp shortly after the draft because of illness, but Childress said Harvin’s sicknesses didn’t worry him and called it “two different situations.”
