Giants HC Brian Daboll told reporters that QB Drew Lock is in a walking boot due to a heel injury and Tommy DeVito now is expected to start Sunday vs. the Ravens.

The Ravens path to an overall D/ST1 finish on the week becomes a little clearer. DeVito can safely be kept on benches in SuperFlex leagues on a week with zero byes.

The Giants aren’t planning to make another quarterback change this week, but they’ll have to wait for word on Drew Lock’s health before they know for sure.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll said at his Monday press conference that Lock is sore and dealing with a couple of things after Sunday’s 14-11 loss to the Saints.

Daboll said Lock is having an MRI to rule out any structural issues, but he did not specify what part of the body is being looked at, the story said.

The Giants are sticking with DeVito even though they were counting on some of the magic he showed last season - which never came to be against the Buccaneers. The move makes sense as the Giants are on a short week and play at Dallas on Thanksgiving Day. The game is a winnable one for the Giants, and its another chance to see if DeVito can give the offense any kind of spark and perhaps earn a job as a backup next season. DeVito is a risky start even against a Dallas defense that hasn't been very good at times this season.

It looks like it's all up to DeVito and Lock to carry the team toward a top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Neither one is particularly exciting in a bad Giants offense, but DeVito is a fine streamer for desperate managers in Week 12.

The story speculates no one is likely to trade for Jones after the season, and so it's expected he'll be released by the team at some point. The decision to start DeVito does make some sense as he was a popular player during his 15 minutes of fame last season, and he does at least bring some rushing upside in terms of fantasy. His only value for now comes in deeper two-QB or superflex leagues.

Daboll went on to say in the post that Jones gives Giants their best chance, and the issues were collective, not solely on Jones. Lock didn't do much better, so Jones gets at least one more chance against a tough Steelers defense in Week 8.
