Per Baumgardner, "Keaton Mitchell has legit “goodbye” speed (4.37-second 40 and 1.5-second 10-yard split) plus a 38-inch vertical at just 5-7, 179 pounds. The obvious limitations are in the size department. When this guy puts his foot on the ground and turns the corner, though, he darn near breaks the sound barrier. He’s gadgety but could be a lot of fun in Baltimore’s offense."

The actual fantasy output of Baltimore RBs always seems to fall below its potential, and a lot of that is, of course, due to how much ground Lamar Jackson soaks up. The odds are very low that Mitchell will produce tangibly during the 2023 season, but he should be an interesting name to keep in mind for deeper dynasty leagues.

Free-agent RB Justice Hill is resigning with the Ravens, a two-year $4.5 million deal with a max value of up to $5 million.

It looks like Baltimore is running back last season's backfield. Hill operates mostly as a special teams asset but has a bit of juice when he finds the offensive side of the ball, averaging 5.3 yards per carry on his 49 totes last season.

The Ravens are waiving RB Mike Davis, paving the way for RB J.K. Dobbins, who will be activated from injured reserve Saturday.

Davis underwent surgery to remove scar tissue from his knee in November but is now ready to roll this week. Early on, we could see a committee between Dobbins, Gus Edwards and Kenyan Drake. All look like low-end flex plays at best against the Steelers.

Head coach John Harbaugh confirmed Marcus Williams (wrist) and J.K. Dobbins (knee) won’t play Sunday, but next week should be a consideration for both.

The struggle to see the field for Dobbins continues, though it seems there may be a light at the end of the tunnel. It may be too late for fantasy purposes, but he would be an interesting stash for the playoff run, in case he somehow becomes the lead back we've been waiting two years for him to become.

Dobbins, who was placed on injured reserve Oct. 22 after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery, has been designated to return from IR. He can be activated to the Ravens’ 53-man roster at any point over the next 21 days. Dobbins, who suffered a significant knee injury last preseason, has 35 carries for 123 yards and a touchdown this year. It will be a crowded backfield upon his return. Edwards led the way last week when he returned from his injury, and when Edwards was out, it was Drake.

After missing the entirety of the 2021 season, Dobbins has played in only four games this year, and may not be back until Week 13. Gus Edwards could return to action as early as this week but hasn't played himself since 2020. This backfield is a mess at the moment, with Kenyan Drake being the only usable piece, and that is only in the case that Edwards gets ruled out.

Ravens RB Gus Edwards is set to return in the very near future.

Once activated he'll have 21 days to get ready to play. Dobbins broke out a bit last week so the potential return of Edwards will now make for a bit more of a crowded backfield. However the Ravens could take it slow with Edwards so we'll need to see more of a timeline. Edwards may be worth a stash if you need RB help.

Dobbins has been recovering from his multiple injuries including an ACL from last season and did not play in the first two games of the season but is expected to be available against the Patriots. He is listed as questionable but practiced in full all week. Other than Lamar Jackson, the Ravens have gotten nothing from their running game through two weeks. Their leading rusher not named Lamar Jackson is Kenyan Drake with a whopping 39 yards on 17 carries. Dobbins may be limited, but he may at least add a little boost to the ground game.

Reports said Dobbins was close to playing in Week 2 but the Ravens played it safe. He seems to have a great chance to play in Week 3, but he could also be on a pitch count for his first game back. Owners will want to keep an eye on this through the week.

Thought J.K. Dobbins looked really good in early portion of practice. Was moving around and cutting well.

Ian Rapoport reported Dobbins practiced fully today. The Ravens didn't have much of a ground game in Week 1 so a Dobbins return would be a welcome sight. Davis carried just two times for 11 yards and Drake added 11 runs but for just 31 yards.
