Seahawks head coach told reporters Wednesday that WR D'Wayne Eskridge is at home and is in concussion protocol.

The rookie Eskridge has had a rough start to his NFL career. The likelihood he plays is slim so receivers Freddie Swain and Penny Hart, and tight end Will Dissly stand to see increases in snaps.

When discussing final roster predictions, Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times wrote that D'Wayne Eskridge fit in as the team's third receiver after returning to practice last week. His consistency with the offense despite time off bodes well for the rookie.

The names after Eskridge are less than appealing. It also helps that Seattle spent draft capital on the Western Michigan prospect and have given him every opportunity to succeed. The rookie is John Paulsen's WR82.

It's not great that D'Wayne Eskridge is missing time while a new offense is being installed in Seattle. He has an opportunity to be the WR3 for the Seahawks, but if he can't go Freddy Swain would be the next man up.
