At one point, new Chicago offensive coordinator Mike Martz envisioned wide receiver Devin Hester as an ideal slot receiver, but depending on what play is called, Hester has been lining up some in the slot and some outside. The former Miami Hurricane is relishing his role in Martz's offense.
"It's exciting, the things that Martz has brought with him," Hester said. "Just out there running routes, I can't wait to go against defenses. I am just so eager to try to do it against our opponents."
While Devin Aromashodu and Johnny Knox are youngsters with upside, Hester still lead Chicago in receiving yards in 2009 and was second on the team in receptions despite playing in just 13 games. With all of Chicago's receivers gaining extra attention with the addition of Martz, none of them are sure-fire fantasy starters at this point. They do offer potential off the bench and given that Hester has proven he's capable of big games in the past, he might be a better pick because he's more proven.
