Lindsey Thiry of ESPN reports that the Rams and WR Robert Woods have agreed to a 4-year, $68 million extension, with $32 million guaranteed. The $68 million is the the maximum Woods can make.

The Rams continue to make a mockery of the NFL's salary cap by signing another player to a lucrative deal. The Rams now have a core offensive group that includes QB Jared Goof, WR Cooper Kupp, and Woods.

The Rams and WR Cooper Kupp are closing in on a contract extension and there is a belief it will be done before the Rams kick off their season Sunday night against the Cowboys.

With contracts flying off the board recently, including the Rams with Jalen Ramsey, the team felt it was time to take care of one of their reliable weapons on offense in Kupp, who is coming off 94 catches, 1,161 yards and ten touchdowns in 2019. He and Robert Woods continue to form one of the better wide receiver tandems in the NFL. With Kupp soon to be extended, the Rams will likely next turn to their attention to Woods, who is set to be a free agent after the 2021 season.

The Rams are reportedly working on a long-term contract extension with WR Cooper Kupp and hope to have it finished before Week 1.

Kupp has been a great fit for Sean McVay's scheme, showing instant chemistry with Jared Goff working primarily in the slot. Although his usage slowed at the end of last season due to additional utilization of 12 personnel, Kupp is a key part of the Rams passing attack and should be a strong WR2 for fantasy in 2020.

A report surfaced that receiver Cooper Kupp departed Saturday’s scrimmage early with an ankle injury. Rams coach Sean McVay disputed that Monday.

“That report is inaccurate,” McVay said, via Greg Beacham of The Associated Press. “He does not have an ankle sprain. He has some soreness in his leg (from before the scrimmage).”

McVay expects Kupp to play the season opener against the Cowboys. “He’s feeling good,” McVay said, via Omar Ruiz of NFL Media. “Don’t anticipate any limits with his Dallas prep.”

The Rams held their second scrimmage of training camp on Saturday and one key offensive player made an early exit from the proceedings.

Wide receiver Cooper Kupp didn’t finish the session on the field, although word was that it wasn’t for health reasons.

Head coach Sean McVay said, via the team’s website, that Kupp is feeling fine and they were “just being smart” with his repetitions, the story. He's expected to be back at practice.

The Rams expect that Josh Reynolds will, or at least play a significantly increased role, this season.

The Rams think Reynolds can step in with the loss of Brandin Cooks to the Texans. A fourth-round pick in 2017, Reynolds served mostly as a backup the past three seasons, but filled in as a starter when needed. In 48 games, Reynolds caught 61 passes for 832 yards and seven touchdowns.
