After Sunday night’s 54-19 loss to the Cowboys came to an end, Colts interim head coach Jeff Saturday said he didn’t give any thought to benching quarterback Matt Ryan despite his four turnovers on the evening.

On Monday, the prospect of making changes during the bye week came up. Saturday said any changes the 4-8-1 team makes “won’t be about next-year evaluation,” but about giving the team their best chance of winning their final four games.

Saturday added everything is up for review, including the QB position. Ehlinger was not good in his two starts before the team went back to Ryan. Against the Cowboys, Foles was the backup QB.

Even though the Colts, at 4-7-1, realistically have nothing left to play for, they are sticking with veteran Matt Ryan.

“Matt’s going to continue being the guy,” HC Jeff Saturday said after Monday night’s loss to the Steelers.

The story went on to break down the team's struggles at QB: Between the two quarterbacks, the Colts have 11 touchdown passes in 12 games. Ryan, 37, has a passer rating of 86.3. The only season he had a worse rating was his second season (2009) when he had an 80.9. He has 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. In two starts, Ehlinger had no touchdowns and an interception.

Jerry Jeudy will not practice for a second straight day, per Nathaniel Hackett.

Things aren't trending well for Jeudy or, according to a separate report, WR Kendall Hinton. Week 11 should set up as another double-digit target game for Courtland Sutton.

Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy is getting an MRI on his ankle, but heading into the MRI, the belief is he strained a muscle behind his ankle. He couldn't put any pressure on it yesterday, so he couldn't run routes. Testing will tell how long he's out.

If Jeudy is forced to miss extensive time, Courtland Sutton would become the team's WR1 and de facto target hog. The only problem is, Russell Wilson, and this offense in general, will still cap his ceiling as a fantasy WR2. Kendall Hinton easily recorded a career-high with his 47 routes in Week 10, turning five targets into four receptions and 62 yards.

Based on Pelissero's tweets, it sounds like the QB situation could be at the bottom of Saturday's problems. Pelissero said Saturday was shocked to be offered the job because of having no experience. Saturday still has to find someone on his staff to call the plays for this week's game and going forward, and those interviews are ongoing. It seems to be a given Ryan won't be back under center based on his contract, and Foles is the current backup. At least from a fantasy angle, Ehlinger has been terrible to this point and the entire offense hasn't been much better as a result.

Chargers WR Keenan Allen is not on the field for the portion of practice open to reporters. Allen has not practiced all week because of his hamstring.

There's not much more to say about Keenan Allen's lower body injuries. Josh Palmer should operate as the Chargers' WR1 and carries moderate fantasy value, even in a great matchup against the Falcons. He should be considered a WR2/3, while DeAndre Carter is a speedy Flex consideration.

The Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday announced they have fired offensive coordinator Marcus Brady.

"This was an incredibly hard decision, but one I felt needed to be made in the best interest of the team," Colts head coach Frank Reich said in a statement. "I appreciate Marcus's commitment to the organization, and he made a significant contribution to our offensive success over the last five seasons. I wish him the best moving forward."

The Colts' offense has scored 17 or fewer points in five of their eight games this season. Indy (3-4-1) has also scored one touchdown or less in a game on four occasions this season, the story went on to say. Of course, the team just made a quarterback switch from Matt Ryan to Ehlinger last week.

Chargers are expecting Mike Williams to miss a minimum of four weeks.

The good news is the Bolts have a bye this week, which should give Allen a chance to get healthy and ready for what will likely be a huge workload with Williams out. Carter and Palmer are next up on the depth chart and should see increased roles. Williams was having a nice year averaging about 8 targets a game.

Matt Ryan is done. He’s out. He won’t play again, for reasons rooted in his contract. Put simply, once the team decided (and it was clear from coach Frank Reich’s comments that owner Jim Irsay made the decision) that Ryan won’t be the quarterback in 2023, it was time to pull the plug on 2022.

Ryan’s contract already pays him $12 million in base salary next year, fully guaranteed. But millions more would become fully guaranteed if Ryan suffers an injury that keeps him from passing a physical by the third day of the 2023 league year in March, when the payments that are currently guaranteed for injury become fully guaranteed.

Specifically, Ryan has $7.205 million in additional 2023 salary guaranteed for injury, and a 2023 roster bonus of $10 million, which is also guaranteed for injury. That’s $17.205 million that the Colts would potentially owe Ryan (in addition to the $12 million) if he emerges from the 2022 season with an injury that prevents him from passing a physical by the middle of March.

Ehlinger officially becomes the starting quarterback of the Colts. If he fails or gets injured, Foles will take over. And if Foles gets injured, the quarterback will be anyone but Ryan, the story said.
