Texans Sign Grossman to One-Year Deal

Texans agreed to terms with QB Rex Grossman on a one-year, $620,000 contract.

If Grossman passes his physical, as expected, he'll sign a one-year contract Friday worth $620,000 — the minimum for a seven-year veteran. Grossman, who turns 29 in August, was a first-round draft choice by the Chicago Bears in 2003. After spending six seasons with the Bears, they elected not to re-sign him, making him an unrestricted free agent.

The Texans already have three veterans — Matt Schaub, Dan Orlovsky and Alex Brink. They aren't planning to take four quarterbacks to training camp, which could be bad news for Brink, a seventh-round pick in 2008.
