Coach Mike Tomlin said the Steelers will let the players' "reaction" to work in practice this week and the quality of that work guide the team's decision on whether they will play Sunday.
Asked whether Ben Roethlisberger might dress as the backup if he doesn't start Sunday, Tomlin said "all the cards are on the table" for the players he listed.
Tomlin said he thought Roethlisberger's practice Monday was "generally positive." Roethlisberger took some first-team reps.
Roethlisberger had surgery to repair the meniscus in his left knee Oct. 17. Doctors initially told the Steelers that Roethlisberger's knee surgery would sideline him four to six weeks, however we had a report that said that timetable came from Ben himself. Week 9 was never really ruled out for a return, but owners will just have to sit tight on a decision, which likely comes later in the week.
