NFL Spread and O/U Picks: Hunter's Week 12 Best Bets
The Chiefs caught the curse of bad fortune at the hand of my written word in Week 11, as the dreams of a perfect season finally met their demise at the hands of a superhuman effort by Josh Allen. Also, after dominating the early season from any distance, NFL kickers are seemingly forgetting how to do their job. Thanks to the Rams’ Joshua Karty in Week 11, the new shortest missed field goal is from 26 yards. After getting an inadvertent shoutout from the Pope, the Saints have seemingly cursed opposing kickers from being able to make kicks, with the Browns going 0 for 2 in Week 11 and the Falcons going 1 for 4 in Week 10. And lastly, future Hall of Famer Justin Tucker went 1 for 3 in a 2-point loss to the Steelers, and he’s only 16-22 on the year.
As for my bets, we got back on track for winning weeks. I have talked to lengths this year about how there hasn’t been much good fortune in the way of randomness in the favor of whatever side I am on, but that changed a little in Week 11. The Bears had a kick blocked to keep that game under the total, but the box score suggests that I was on the wrong side there this week. Same with a Dallas team total where they put up 388 total yards but still only managed 10 points (their true score was just shy of 26). We ended Week 11 by going 5-1 for +8.12 units! Let’s keep the momentum going into Week 12.
