Don’t count Jermichael Finley among those concerned about his slow start.

Five months after signing a two-year, $14-million contract, the Green Bay Packers tight end hasn’t made much of an impact so far in training camp. He has yet to make an eye-catching play and has dropped at least one pass that could be categorized as routine.

“Jermichael’s on track; he’s progressing at a rate that is OK,” Packers tight ends coach Jerry Fontenot said. “I think he has a ways to go just like everybody else. The volume of information that we install in our offense is pretty hefty, and the tight ends are asked to do a lot of different jobs in our offense. So that being said, the more time that he does spend on the field, the better for everybody, and that includes everybody else in the tight end position.”
