Week 13 Injury Report: Take a knee, McCaffrey

Trevor Lawrence, QB Jacksonville Jaguars

Injury: Concussion

Projected Timetable: TBD

Initial Thoughts:

On paper, Lawrence would likely miss at least one game with a chance to return week 15 or 16. However, I am sure the Jaguars will take into account their current record as well as his prior left AC sprain. Keep an eye on his status, but thankfully we know that he is doing well at home after posting on social media.

Baker Mayfield, QB Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Injury: Calf/Achilles abrasion

Projected Timetable: Week 14

Initial Thoughts:

Mayfield told reporters that he was cleated in the back of his calf/Achilles, which was fairly painful in the moment. He was able to return to the game without production dip. Assume he plays week 14 without issue.

Taysom Hill, QB/TE New Orleans Saints

Injury: Left Knee

Projected Timetable: Season-Ending

Initial Thoughts:

By video, he suffered a hyperextension left knee injury with concern of ACL/PCL damage. It has been reported that he is suspected to have suffered a season-ending knee injury, which fits the mechanism seen on video. Note: Week 13 marked the last game that Kendre Miller had to miss while on IR for the second time. If he is healthy, the Saints could be getting an explosive playmaker back just in time after losing Hill.

Breece Hall, RB New York Jets

Injury: Right Knee

Projected Timetable: Week 14

Initial Thoughts:

Hall was spotted limping on the sideline and headed into the locker room just before halftime favoring his right knee. He had entered the week with knee soreness from their week 11 game. He was able to return to the game in the second half and was still running effectively and efficiently. Assume he plays week 14 unless he winds up dealing with stiffness or more soreness post-game leading into this week's practices.

Bucky Irving, TB Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Injury: Hip

Projected Timetable: Week 14

Initial Thoughts:

Thankfully Irving was able to return to the game after being checked by trainers for a hip injury. He remained highly efficient with his touches after he returned, so hopefully this injury does not linger into this next week. Assume he plays week 14 with minimal issue.

Christian McCaffrey, RB San Francisco 49ers

Injury: Right Knee, PCL

Projected Timetable: Season-Ending

Initial Thoughts:

By video, concern for a right PCL sprain after he slammed his knee into the frozen ground on his long run. He was clearly unable to push off of his right leg on his next rush attempt, instead opting to drop down to the ground, which made many fear for the worst. While thankfully this was not an Achilles injury, if it is confirmed a PCL sprain then it will likely cause efficiency dips for rest of the season. There is also concern that the 49ers opt to shut him down for the rest of the season as they continue to lose. Of note, it has been confirmed a PCL sprain that will likely be season-ending. For dynasty purposes, if he requires surgery, the PCL repair will likely lead to efficiency concerns through the beginning portion of the 2025 season (think Kyle Pitts). If it does not require surgery, he should be fine for next year. Jordan Mason and Isaac Guerendo will likely split the workload rest of season.

Jordan Mason, RB San Francisco 49ers

Injury: Ankle Sprain, IR

Projected Timetable: Week 18

Initial Thoughts:

Along with CMC, Mason picked up an injury in week 13. He will now be placed on IR with an ankle injury, leaving the backfield to Isaac Guerendo, who is likely the number one waiver priority if he is available.

DK Metcalf, WR Seattle Seahawks

Injury: Left Ankle

Projected Timetable: Week 14

Initial Thoughts:

He only missed one snap after being helped off of the field and spending minimal time in the medical tent. He played the rest of the game without noticeable issues. As of right now, I am operating as if he will be available for week 14.

Rashod Bateman, WR Baltimore Ravens

Injury: Knee

Projected Timetable: 3-4 Weeks

Initial Thoughts:

Bateman had already been dealing with a prior knee sprain and was ruled out during the game with a presumed reinjury. No specific details have been revealed as of right now, but typical knee sprain reinjuries cost wide receivers 3-4 weeks. Plan to be without him moving forward into fantasy playoffs. Of note, Diontae Johnson did not play a snap despite Bateman's injury. It is unknown if there was a disciplinary matter or if the Ravens simply preferred other personnel utilizations.

Ladd McConkey, WR Los Angeles Chargers

Injury: Right Hip, Knee

Projected Timetable: Week 14-16

Initial Thoughts:

McConkey has been battling a hip injury for several weeks and had another awkward tackle in this week's game leading to an aggravation of his right hip and knee. Harbaugh has stated that "he is working through things", which is the typical Harbaugh response when a player is injured. Monitor his practice status but it sounds like he could miss some time.

Dallas Goedert, TE Philadelphia Eagles

Injury: Knee

Projected Timetable: Week 15-17

Initial Thoughts:

Goedert has battled multiple injuries this season, picking up another knee sprain this week. He was knocked out of the game but no other details have been provided. Monitor his practice status, but plan on being without him for at least one week, possibly longer. DeVonta Smith should be able to suit up in week 14. UPDATE: He is officially week to week and short-term IR is a possibility. Plan to be without Goedert for fantasy playoffs.

Dalton Schultz, TE Houston Texans

Injury: Shoulder

Projected Timetable: Week 15

Initial Thoughts:

Schultz was able to return to the game and play well. With a week 14 bye, Schultz will likely be able to suit up Week 15 without issue.
