The Indianapolis Colts have placed starting quarterback Carson Wentz on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the team announced Tuesday.

It is unclear if Wentz was put on the list as a close contact or if he tested positive, but either way he will miss Sunday's key game against the Las Vegas Raiders, because he's an unvaccinated player. If he's a close contact he must quarantine for five days and then could return if he tested negative. If he tested positive he must quarantine for 10 days, according to the story. Rookie Ehlinger, barring the Colts bringing in a quarterback from the outside or going with practice squad quarterback Hundley, will start against the Raiders. Ehlinger missed the start of the regular season due to a knee injury suffered in a preseason game at Detroit.

Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson and Trenton Cannon are scheduled to be unrestricted free agents in March. Given how vital that position is, I think the 49ers should re-sign Wilson (no brainer), re-sign Mostert (more expensive, yes, but it’s necessary) and bring in one more additional runner. That would give them: Mostert, Elijah Mitchell, Wilson, Trey Sermon, JaMycal Hasty and _____ to start the offseason.

The author went on to say the 49ers’ motto when it comes to running backs ought to be: We can never have enough. The big fantasy question would be who is the lead back as Mostert, Mitchell and Wilson have all had the role at one time or another.

Jonathan Taylor is currently on pace for 362 touches, which is nearly 100 more than he had as a rookie in 2020. In his collegiate career at Wisconsin, he had at least 300 touches in each of his three seasons, totaling 346 with 2,255 yards in 2019.

So there already is some significant mileage on Taylor’s proverbial tires. But after Sunday’s win, Taylor said he feels “surprisingly good” heading into Indianapolis’ bye week.

After Sunday’s 31-0 victory over the Texans, Taylor leads the league with 241 carries, 1,348 rushing yards, 16 rushing touchdowns, 277 touches, 1,684 yards from scrimmage, and 18 total TDs. Unfortunately for owners, Taylor has a bye in Week 14, but the good news is the rest should help for the fantasy playoffs which likely begin in Week 15 of your league.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel (groin) and RB Trey Sermon (ankle) will not play Week 13 at Seattle.

Nothing changes from their expected statuses earlier this week.

The Jets have placed QB Joe Flacco and QB Mike White on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

Wilson was announced as the Monday Night starter but with Flacco and White on the COVID list, Johnson will back up Wilson.

Zach Wilson was fully cleared to return Monday night. He will practice fully and start against the Texans, sources tell The Athletic.

Wilson missed four games with a PCL injury and watched as White flashed and faded before Flacco at least gave the Jets a chance against the Dolphins in Week 11. The Jets are eager to get Wilson back in the lineup with WR Elijah Moore having three-straight games with TDs. That duo will have to wait a couple of weeks to get RB Michael Carter back in the fold as he has a high ankle sprain.

If Zach Wilson shows improvement upon his return, which could be this week against the Houston Texans (2-8), the Jets could walk out of the season knowing they have two important pieces to succeed in a passing-crazed league.

The story was mostly about the emergence of Elijah Moore over the past several weeks. Moore has scored a TD in three-straight games and none of them have come from second overall pick Wilson, who has remained out of the lineup. The Jets are likely looking forward to seeing the Wilson-Moore connection get on the field as soon as possible, as the two look to be a bright spot in the team's future success.

The Jaguars have placed WR Jamal Agnew on Injured Reserve for a season-ending hip injury.

It's a big blow to the offense and especially the special teams where Agnew originally made his mark this season. But as of late, Agnew was getting more reps as a WR2. The Jags offense, especially the passing game, is one to mostly stay away from in terms of fantasy production.

49ers RB Elijah Mitchell is doubtful for Week 11 at the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Against an inferior opponent, it is best to give Mitchell another week to heal from finger surgery. Look for Wilson to be the lead back Sunday.

The New York Jets plant to start QB Joe Flacco Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins.

Wilson is not ready to take over at QB, but his doubtful tag last week is a sign it could be sooner than later. Mike White was bad Week 10 and the Jets are hoping Flacco can handle Miami's Cover Zero defense better than White.
