The Rams first held Cam Akers out of practice on Oct. 14 citing “personal reasons,” and they have held him out of practice and games since. Coach Sean McVay, who initially called the situation an “internal” matter, later publicly confirmed the Rams were working to trade Akers.

It's hard to imagine Akers will immediately return to a featured role in Week 9 but the backfield is trending back towards a giant headache. The article confirms that the team was actively trying to trade the young RB but didn't receive any "realistic" offers.

Wilks said it's tough to say when Panthers will activate Sam Darnold, whose 21-day window ends Tuesday.

If they don't activate him by then, he'll remain on IR, according to the tweet. Wilks said Darnold looks good, but points out he hasn't had game action (regular season) since the end of '21.

Akers has been inactive the past two games for what the team called personal reasons. Pelissero included in his tweet that the Rams turned down multiple offers for Akers before Tuesday's trade deadline. This will only further muddy the Rams RB situation. Henderson, Brown and Rivers have been getting work to this point but no one has stood out. Williams is poised to return and could end up the one having some fantasy value, but right now this is a situation to stay away from unless we get more clarity.

Minnesota sends a 2023 second-round pick and 2024 third-round pick to Detroit for Hockenson, a 2023 fourth-round pick and a 2024 conditional fourth-round pick. Smith is expected to miss 8-10 weeks with an ankle injury, so Hockenson slides right in as the Vikings TE1. Wright should now become the Lions TE1. Hockenson will be an unrestricted free agent after this season.

Once again, Rams’ RB Cam Akers will be held out of Sunday’s game vs. San Francisco.

Last we saw the Rams' running game, Darrell Henderson had averaged 3.6 yards per carry whole ceding action to Malcolm Brown. Injuries have greatly affected the LA offensive line and as such, the running backs have a limited ceiling. Henderson is currently a fringe RB2/RB3 option.

For a second straight day, Broncos’ QB Russell Wilson was listed as being a limited participant at practice due to his hamstring injury. Wilson has said he intends to play Sunday in London vs. the Jaguars.

Brett Rypien's Week 7 spot-start went predictably poorly, but Russ has certainly not been cooking when he's on the field, either. Neither option should be considered in typical redraft leagues, while Rypien should probably be ignored in 2QB/Superflex leagues.

Sean McVay said RB Cam Akers won't practice today and he doesn't expect him to be out with the team this week.

The Rams are looking to trade the RB and give him a fresh start. Although the team hasn't ruled out a return, it doesn't look likely at this point. Henderson and Brown look like they'll share RB duties, at least until Williams returns.

Broncos’ QB Russell Wilson is a limited participant at today’s practice at the Harrow School in suburban London.

Reports this week said the Broncos seem to think Wilson will be able to go in Week 8. We reported last week Wilson was pressing to play after being limited, but ultimately the team decided to ride with Rypien. The good news is this is an early Sunday game in London, so those wishing to play Wilson will have time to put him in, or take him out, of lineups and adjust thereafter.

Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Jets with a hamstring injury.

Wilson pushed to play but was limited all week in practice and the Broncos want to allow the injury to heal instead of pushing their big-money quarterback. Brett Rypien gets the start. Rypien has started one game in his career, a win over the Jets in 2020. This certainly dips the Broncos offense, who will likely try to get the ground game going with Melvin Gordon and Latavius Murray. The Jets defense now becomes an interesting play this week for streaming and for daily purposes.
