Austin Ekeler just told us on Grant & Danny that he is tracking toward being able to play on Sunday.

Ekeler missed Week 4 but it sounds like he expects to be back on the field against the Browns. The post went on to say Ekeler said he's feeling more like himself as he completes the steps of the concussion protocol. The return of Ekeler likely means less work for McNichols who had a great game in Week 4 in Arizona.

Hopefully this will just be one week while Ekeler works through the protocol. Robinson has to be considered a high-end RB2 while his teammate is sidelined. No need to start McNichols anywhere.

The Commanders are heading right to Arizona for a Week 4 game against the Cardinals instead of going back to Washington, according to reports. It's unclear if Ekeler would have cleared, or could still clear protocol. We may know more during the week, but owners should probably prepare to not have Ekeler for Week 4, which is a later afternoon game. Robinson should lead the way at RB with McNichols perhaps getting more touches if Ekeler doesn't play.

Ekeler will likely land in protocol making his availability in question for Week 4, which is an away game in Arizona in the later window of Sunday's action. Robinson should see a bigger role if Ekeler can't go, and in Week 3, McNichols did see one carry and could end up with some touches if Ekeler has to miss Week 4.

49ers TE George Kittle (hamstring) is doubtful for Sunday vs. the Rams. WR Deebo Samuel (calf) is out as expected. DE Nick Bosa (rib) is questionable.

This would be yet another blow to a 49ers offense that is reeling. Saubert doesn't need to be started in typical fantasy leagues, and Brock Purdy's fantasy outlook would also take another huge hit.

49ers coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters that WR Deebo Samuel has a calf strain and will miss a few weeks. Another star injury for the Niners.

It's a big blow to the Niners offense, which is already without Christian McCaffrey for an extended time. There was no mention on whether or not Deebo could end up on IR. Aiyuk should take over as the team's WR1, but who takes over as the WR2 is the bigger question. Kittle is likely next up after Aiyuk, which then leaves Jennings, Bell, Conley and Cowing at WR. Jennings is probably the leading candidate, but probably won't be a safe play in typical leagues. Cowing is a rookie who has stood out over the spring and summer and has been returning kicks, so it's possible he earns a bigger role with Deebo out.

The Commanders are making a kicking change.

Cade York missed a pair of field goals in Sunday’s 37-20 loss to the Buccaneers and the Commanders announced that he has been released on Monday. York did make both extra points he tried during the game.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the Commanders are expected to sign Seibert as their new kicker, according to the story.

The 49ers placed WR Ricky Pearsall on the reserve/non-football injury list after he suffered a gunshot wound in an attempted armed robbery over the weekend. Pearsall, the team's first-round pick, will miss at least the first four games.

The loss of Pearsall opens up the 49ers WR3 spot. However, with Aiyuk, Samuel and George Kittle, the Niners WR3 isn't always fantasy relevant. Despite that, Cowing could still be a name to keep an eye on. The rookie has generated a lot of positive press through camp this summer. However, guys like Jennings, Bell and Conley could also earn time in that WR3 role.

The 49ers are not trading star WR Brandon Aiyuk — he’s staying in SF with a massive extension.

Aiyuk is getting a front-loaded 4-year deal worth $120M. And yes, Aiyuk will now practice.

The sweat is over for fantasy managers, and those who grabbed Aiyuk in the 4th are feeling fantastic. The 49ers are set to be an incredible offense once again and Aiyuk should be an easy click in the 3rd round.

Brown was sneakily productive as a Texan last season, notching games of 82, 153, and 172 yards while only appearing in ten matchups. On a thin wide receiver depth chart, he makes for an interesting late-round stab, particularly in best ball leagues as a stacking partner for Jayden Daniels.
