While Michael Gallup still isn't expected to suit up on Sunday for the Buccaneers facing off against his Cowboys, this is a step in the right direction.

Rookie Jalen Tolbert has an opportunity to work as the team's WR2, and third passing-game option behind CeeDee Lamb and TE Dalton Schultz. Owner Jerry Jones said last week that he believes Gallup will be ready to go sometime in the first three weeks of the season.

Gallup avoided the PUP list which means the team sees him coming back before Week 4. Owner Jerry Jones said if Week 1 was the Super Bowl, Gallup would probably be able to play. As a result, many speculate he's close to returning, but most reports have him out for Week 1, possibly Week 2 as well. When he's back, he'll be the WR2 behind Lamb, and for now Tolbert and Brown will pick up the slack.

Cowboys WR James Washington (foot fracture, fifth metatarsal) going on injured reserve. Washington are eligible for in-season return.

Washington can return for Week 5 and other reports say he should at least be close at that point. Washington should battle for WR3 snaps, but by Week 5 could also be behind Tolbert and/or Brown.

The Cowboys will be without WR James Washington for 6-10 weeks because of a fractured right foot suffered Monday, according to multiple sources. He is scheduled to undergo surgery on Tuesday in Dallas.

With Gallup recovering from an ACL injury, it looks like the rookie Tolbert and Brown are next up on the suddenly thin depth chart, behind Lamb.

It's feared that veteran wide receiver James Washington may have suffered a Jones fracture.

Immediate reports are ranging from a Jones fracture to a right turf toe. Regardless, if Washington is forced to miss time to begin the year, it will open the door for rookie Jalen Tolbert to operate as the WR3 behind CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup, when the latter returns later this Fall.
