2025 NFL Mock Draft 2.0
1. Titans: Cam Ward - QB - Miami
With new GM Mike Borgonzi at the helm, the Titans were originally thought of as a team that might stand pat and take blue-chip prospect Abdul Carter at No. 1 or even trade down with the Giants. Over the last three weeks there has been an increasingly loud drumbeat of reports linking the Titans to Cam Ward, culminating in a report from Adam Schefter mentioning “increased interest” in Cam Ward.
They need a QB after the Will Levis experiment failed and even if they don’t have all the pieces around him, who knows when they will be picking this high again. Ward is -1000 to go first overall as the prevailing thought is that if the Titans don’t want Ward they will trade down with the Giants.
2. Browns: Shadeur Sanders - QB - Colorado
There are some connections between Sanders and this Browns team. Deion Sanders and Browns OC Bill Musgrave played together at the 49ers. Sanders favorite football memory is actually of a play that Musgrave had and their relationship seems to be strong. Pat Shurmur and Kevin Stefanski have worked together before and Shurmur was the OC at Colorado with Sanders. A recent report came out saying Shurmur spoke very highly of Sanders to Stefanski.
There was also an interesting interview between Myles Sanders and Andrew Siciliano a few weeks ago. Paraphrasing, Siciliano asked him if he had an idea about who the QB would be and he said I do. Siciliano then asked if he liked the idea, which Garrett said: “ I like it enough to be here smiling in front of you because we have a good chance of that happening and making the most out of it.”
Unpacking this quote a bit, it absolutely makes sense that the Browns would hint at their plans for QB because Garrett had previously requested a trade and been somewhat adamant about leaving. He then signed a massive contract.
The part of that quote that stood out to me was “we have a good chance of that happening” which implies it’s not a QB currently on their roster. They also are in a tough cap situation which takes Kirk Cousins off the table who has a hefty contract attached to him even if they could trade for him. Also, who get’s excited about Kirk Cousins after what we saw at the end of last year? Gross.
As it stands today, I think the Browns go with Shadeur.
3. Giants: Travis Hunter - DB - Colorado
The Giants are probably open to drafting a rookie QB m but after signing Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson, they are likely more open to taking a dart in the early 2nd round and adding a playmaker on both sides of the ball here in Hunter. Nabers and Hunter paired with Winston/Russ at least gives them some juice offensively. I don't think they would take a QB here unless ownership stepped in considering GM Joe Schoen is on a short leash and unless Sanders comes out and is better than Russ/Jameis, they are in a tough spot to win now. It's a short-sighted approach but as I mentioned Joe Schoen is fighting to keep his job.
In this scenario, I think they would go with Hunter over Carter because they already have strong EDGE talent in Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux while their cornerback room is also not great.
4. Patriots: Abdul Carter - EDGE - Penn State
The Patriots are in a great spot at 4th overall as long as both Ward and Sanders go before them. I think they would be happy with either Hunter or Carter in this spot as two of the few immediate difference-makers.
5. Jaguars: Mason Graham - DL - Michigan
New GM James Gladstone has been vocal about beefing up the trenches on both sides of the ball. This could mean an offensive lineman here as well, but for now, I’m rolling with Graham, who would be a great fit for a Jaguars defense devoid of talent.
6. Raiders: Jalon Walker - LB - Georgia
The Raiders are widely mocked Jeanty in this spot, but I’m not as sure it’s a slam dunk as I did a few weeks ago. I believe that they like Jeanty, but also just hired Chip Kelly away from Ohio State where they had two very talented running backs, one of which will very likely be available in the second round at their next pick.
Walker is a versatile EDGE/LB that could bring even more juice to a Raiders defense that already has some strong pieces.
7. Jets: Armand Membou - OL - Mizzou
The post-Rodgers era is certainly going to be interesting and the Jets need a lot of help, all over the field. Membou would be a good fit as a versatile OL that needs some beef up front in what could be a run-heavy approach with Justin Fields and Breece Hall.
8, Panthers: Mykel Williams - DL - Georgia
The Panthers need to continue adding players on defense with the offense finding an identity late in the season. Williams would help as a player who can rush the passer and is a strong athlete with traits-based upside.
9. Saints: Ashton Jeanty - RB - Boise State
This would be a head-turner based on recent mocks but is not unlikely for him to be available in this range. Alvin Kamara turns 30 in July of this year and hasn’t played a full season since his rookie year where he was used as a pass-catching plus back in space. it stands today I believe Jeanty goes anywhere from 6 to 10 so adding some thunder to whatever lightning Kamara has left has to intrigue the Saints.
10. Bears: Tyler Warren - TE - Penn State
The Bears made quick work of addressing the interior of their offensive line with 3 new starters who will all be above-average to good for them. Their current tackle situation features former first-rounder Darnell Wright at RT and mid-round pick Braxton Jones at LT, who has played really well considering how much they pay him and where they drafted him. His PFF grade by year is 19th/81, 34th/91, 21st/81.
The Bears, at this point, are likely not drafting OL here, and in this scenario, with Jeanty off the board, Tyler Warren would be another weapon for Caleb Williams and Ben Johnson to utilize. It would also not shock me for this pick to be Omario Hampton if they really want a top-tier running back. However, this draft class has plenty of strong RB options that could perform well in tandem with Swift.
That leads me to Tyler Warren who lined up all over the offense including 40 snaps at QB, 70 in the backfield, 414 inline, 293 in the slot, and 93 out wide. He truly played everywhere. Penn State was able to get creative with him which is surely something that catches the eye of Ben Johnson. He is also a great tight end in his own right.
11. 49ers: Will Johnson - CB - Michigan
The 49ers have a few needs in the trenches on both sides of the ball, but also need a bit of help at corner. At 6’2/194 he is a lengthy corner who is a fluid athlete. As Noonan mentioned in his mock, he mostly played zone at Michigan but can play man.
12. Cowboys: Matthew Golden - WR - Texas
Jerry Jones and the Cowboys are always such wildcards, but we generally have a good read on them. Golden would add some much-needed depth to the Cowboys' wide receiver room, plus more field-stretching ability after running a 4.3 at the NFL Combine.
13. Dolphins: Will Campbell - OL - LSU
Is Tua healthy? If he is, the Dolphins can compete with basically anyone in the league. If not, the Dolphins are a bottom-10 team. Protecting Tua is of the utmost importance, while also improving run-blocking for Devon Achane makes sense. Campbell falls a bit here from once being looked at as a potential top-5 pick due to slightly smaller arm size.
14. Colts: Colston Loveland - TE - Michigan
We know the Colts were interested in Brock Bowers last year and attempted to trade up. I think they would also be interested in Warren if he falls here but that’s seemingly less and less likely. They need to continue surrounding Anthony Richardson with playmakers for him to even have a chance to be successful, given his other problems as a passer.
15. Falcons: Jahdae Barron - CB - Texas
I expect EDGE to be a very popular selection here, but I think they address that in FA. Falcons GM Terry Fontenot has now been the GM in four drafts and has taken Kyle Pitts, Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Michael Penix Jr. I guess they could go receiver here, which would keep with the trend, but they need to address the defense one way or another soon. Fontenot was with the Saints in a scouting role from 2013-2019, drafting players with an average RAS of 9.10, plenty of whom were defensive players. I’m betting on the Falcons' four-year trend of offensive players ending.
16. Cardinals: Shemar Stewart - EDGE - Texas A&M
Stewart could wind up going even higher than this after leaving the NFL combine with a 9.99 RAS. The weird part is he had a major lack in college production with only 4.5 sacks. His pass rush win rate was just 13.2% as well, profiling closer to a 4th-round pick historically (h/t Anthony Reinhard). He's another great tool and upside vs production prospect.
17. Bengals: Nick Emmanwori - S - South Carolina
Emmanwori is a late riser after putting up a perfect 10 RAS at the combine after running a 4.38 at 6’3, 220 pounds, a 43-inch vertical, and an 11-foot broad jump. The Bengals' defense needs help, and while Emmanwori isn’t the most polished player, he can be used in a variety of spots.
18. Seahawks: Kelvin Banks Jr - OL - Texas
The Seahawks need to continue bolstering their offensive line, and Banks would be a good start. Without DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett + Sam Darnold now in town, the Seahawks may opt to shift to a run-heavier approach this season.
19. Buccaneers: Jihaad Campbell - LB - Alabama
Campbell ripped a 4.52 at the combine at 6’3, 235 after putting up a strong final season at Alabama with 11/5 tackles for loss and 5 sacks. The Bucs have some needs on both sides of the ball but an impact linebacker could be a value here.
20. Broncos: Omarion Hampton - RB - North Carolina
There has been non-stop buzz about Sean Payton adding a “joker” to his offense but the reality is they just need more playmakers. Their skill players collectively are some of the least inspiring in the league. Hampton would provide an instant bump to their running game, and like Loveland with Warrren, some teams will have Hampton over Jeanty.
21. Steelers: Jaxson Dart - QB - Ole Miss
The Steelers lost both Justin Fields and likely Russell Wilson this offseason, leaving Mason Rudolph as the primary starter. We could see them take a long-term swing here with Dart, who is gaining more and more hype as a first-rounder.
22. Chargers: Tet McMillan - WR - Arizona
The Chargers need to add more pass-catchers beyond Ladd McConkey, and Tet’s big build and potential dominance as an outside wideout blends nicely with McConkey’s ability to get open in short-intermediate areas.
23. Packers: Mike Green - EDGE - Marshall
Green is a tough player to gauge after being accused of sexual assault once in high school and twice at UVA before transferring to Marshall. He is talented and has some good traits, but some teams will likely have him off the board entirely.
24. Vikings: Malaki Starks - S - Georgia
Daniel Jeremiah mentioned on a podcast, “I have not heard one team that didn’t LOVE him (starks) in interviews.” I originally had Starks out of the first round in my first mock, but it seems very likely he is a first-rounder and the Vikings need help at safety.
25. Texans: Josh Simmons - OL - Ohio State
Simmons was once projected to be a top pick but suffered a torn patellar tendon in 2024. He is expected to be ready for the 2025 season and could be a massive value if he comes out of this healthy. The Texans signed Christian Kirk and have Nico Collins while getting rid of nearly every starter on the offensive line this offseason. They need to continue building there with youth.
26. Rams: Tyler Booker - OL - Alabama
Booker has a wide range n mocks but reportedly didn’t have a great pro day. The Rams need to add more talent up front, though, and may be willing to take a swing on a talented player in Booker.
27. Ravens: Maxwell Hairston - CB - Kentucky
Hairston torched the combine with a 4.28-second 40-yard dash and likely pushed himself into the first round. The Ravens have some solid corners but may look to add more.
28. Lions: Kenneth Grant - DL - Michigan
The Lions' defense down the stretch struggled due to depth and injuries, so adding more playmakers up front could make a difference, especially as they undergo a coordinator change.
29. Commanders: Walter Nolen - DL - Ole Miss
Nolen is going as high as 11th overall in some mock drafts, but would instantly help this Vikings front that started off the year great against the run, but had some pitfalls later in the year when it mattered most.
30. Bills: Emeka Egbuka - WR - Ohio State
Josh Allen is coming off an MVP season but a true #1 wideout could make this team’s upside even higher. They tried with Amari Cooper but that didn’t work out. They also drafted Keon Coleman who they seem excited about but unsure whether or not he is enough. They could opt for DL but Egbuka has the potential to add an extra burst to this receiving room.
31. Chiefs: James Pearce Jr. - EDGE - Tennessee
Pearce has some character concerns, but there is no denying his talent after running a 4.47 at the combine and racking up 21 combined sacks and 71 hurries in his final two seasons at Tennessee. The Chiefs are known for taking players with questionable intangibles and turning them into stellar players.
32. Eagles: Derrick Harmon - DL - Oregon
Harmon ripped a sub-5.0 40 at 313 pounds and 6’4, which isn’t a massive indicator of DL success, but he is very athletic and would continue to add to an already dominant Eagles defense.
