Guillotine League Week 12 Waiver Wire Options & FAAB Breakdown
We’ve reached a crucial time in the guillotine format where we have to get our rosters ready for battle down the stretch. Players who are inconsistent and potential roster killers should be set free to get other people chopped instead of you.
Think guys like Kareem Hunt, DeVonta Smith, and DeAndre Hopkins who are fine for regular seasonal leagues but could get you eliminated due to their boom-or-bust realities.
Reminder for those playing in guillotine leagues, starting with the chopped players from Week 14, those axed are unavailable for the rest of the season. All other free agents can be bid on. So, the bottom line, there are only three more weeks of bidding on the most coveted free agents.
A lot of big names were chopped last week so there should be plenty of players to add if you still have some FAAB left. Here are the top 10 players chopped across all positions and the percentage of leagues where they were axed.
Team | Position | Player | Chopped% |
---|---|---|---|
WAS | WR | Terry McLaurin | 24.9% |
NYJ | WR | Garrett Wilson | 23.4% |
IND | RB | Jonathan Taylor | 21.6% |
MIN | RB | Aaron Jones | 21.4% |
KC | TE | Travis Kelce | 21.1% |
BAL | RB | Derrick Henry | 20.7% |
LAR | RB | Kyren Williams | 20.5% |
BAL | QB | Lamar Jackson | 20.4% |
ATL | RB | Bijan Robinson | 20.3% |
SF | WR | Deebo Samuel | 18.3% |
Quarterbacks
Five QBs were among the top 50 most chopped players last week.
Team | Position | Player | Chopped% |
---|---|---|---|
BAL | QB | Lamar Jackson | 20.4% |
PHI | QB | Jalen Hurts | 16.7% |
WAS | QB | Jayden Daniels | 15.4% |
KC | QB | Patrick Mahomes | 13.0% |
SF | QB | Brock Purdy | 12.9% |
Lamar Jackson is a tricky one as he’s normally very safe, but has two tough matchups in a row looming. LA has been stout against QBs, other than Joe Burrow’s QB2 performance last week, and the Eagles defense just held Jayden Daniels to only 13.4 fantasy points last Thursday. Then, the Ravens are off in Week 14 which doesn't help. If you want him, don't spend more than $40.
Jalen Hurts was the second-highest-chopped QB last week and has a mixed bag of a schedule remaining this season. The next three weeks are soft, but in Weeks 15-16, the Eagles face Pittsburgh and Washington which could make things more difficult. With his bye behind him, Hurts is a guy you want at this point, so spend around $100-$150.
Standard Waivers QBs
You likely have better ones on your roster, but Bo Nix could be a cheap spot add for any bye-week issues you may have this week. ($5)
Running Backs
Within the Top 50 most chopped players, 19 of them were RBs in Week 11, down one from last week.
Team | Position | Player | Chopped% |
---|---|---|---|
IND | RB | Jonathan Taylor | 21.6% |
MIN | RB | Aaron Jones | 21.4% |
BAL | RB | Derrick Henry | 20.7% |
LAR | RB | Kyren Williams | 20.5% |
ATL | RB | Bijan Robinson | 20.3% |
KC | RB | Kareem Hunt | 18.1% |
TEN | RB | Tony Pollard | 16.5% |
NO | RB | Alvin Kamara | 16.4% |
ARI | RB | James Conner | 14.8% |
SF | RB | Christian McCaffrey | 14.3% |
CAR | RB | Chuba Hubbard | 14.1% |
SEA | RB | Kenneth Walker | 13.5% |
DET | RB | Jahmyr Gibbs | 13.2% |
PIT | RB | Najee Harris | 12.2% |
TB | RB | Rachaad White | 12.0% |
CHI | RB | D'Andre Swift | 11.7% |
DAL | RB | Rico Dowdle | 11.6% |
NE | RB | Rhamondre Stevenson | 11.6% |
WAS | RB | Brian Robinson | 11.5% |
Jonathan Taylor posted 7.0 in PPR scoring last week and wound up on 21.6% of chopped rosters. He’s the RB18 on a per-game basis this season, despite seeing the eighth most touches as his yards per carry is a meh 3.7. He still has a bye in Week 14 which we need to take into consideration. He’s risky this week against Detroit, but if you want him, Taylor will likely cost in the $100 range.
Aaron Jones has underperformed in three of his last four games but could still be a nice flex guy in this format. The Vikings' schedule is fairly neutral for RBs and Jones can likely be had for $25.
Derrick Henry is one of the toughest players to assess this week. He’s Derrick Henry but has a brutal two-week schedule until a Week 14 bye. The Chargers have allowed just one rushing TD all season with Philly only yielding three, and both sit in the top 10 in RB aFPA. Henry could put up a stinker or even two but he may also do King-like things. He’ll probably cost a minimum of $100 but more like $150.
Some other big names who were chopped last week are worth bidding on like Kyren Williams who hasn't produced as much with Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua back but is still a volume-heavy guy in a good offense. ($100) Bijan Robinson is off this week so may be forgotten about. If you can secure him now for under $50 that would be a steal.
Wide Receivers
Nineteen WRs were among the 50 most chopped players after the Week 11 games finished.
Team | Position | Player | Chopped% |
---|---|---|---|
WAS | WR | Terry McLaurin | 24.9% |
NYJ | WR | Garrett Wilson | 23.4% |
SF | WR | Deebo Samuel | 18.3% |
PHI | WR | A.J. Brown | 17.8% |
ATL | WR | Drake London | 17.2% |
HOU | WR | Nico Collins | 17.1% |
1ATL | WR | Darnell Mooney | 16.5% |
MIN | WR | Justin Jefferson | 15.6% |
PHI | WR | DeVonta Smith | 14.7% |
BAL | WR | Zay Flowers | 14.6% |
KC | WR | DeAndre Hopkins | 14.2% |
NYG | WR | Malik Nabers | 13.4% |
NYJ | WR | Davante Adams | 12.6% |
GB | WR | Jayden Reed | 12.5% |
ARI | WR | Marvin Harrison Jr. | 12.1% |
LV | WR | Jakobi Meyers | 12.0% |
PIT | WR | George Pickens | 11.9% |
DAL | WR | CeeDee Lamb | 11.9% |
TEN | WR | Calvin Ridley | 11.4% |
Terry McLaurin was chopped the most among WRs thanks to a one-catch, 10-yard outing against the Eagles. This week should be better in Jerry World but he gets a tough Titans defensive unit in Week 13, then gets to rest. McLaurin is tough to invest heavily in moving forward, I’d keep it under $20.
Thanks to two underwhelming performances and a bye week, Garrett Wilson may be less expensive than his worth this week. He leads all WRs in targets in 2024 and sits second in receptions through Week 11. After this week’s bye, the Jets face three teams that sit 19th or worse in WR aFPA. Throw about $20-$40 his way.
On paper, Deebo Samuel should be a smash add but he’s just not producing as expected, even without Brandon Auiyuk and George Kittle (last week). He’s had just one WR1 finish all season and is the WR41 in PPR points per contest in 2024. He may show some life down the stretch but I wouldn't invest more than $10 in the SF WR.
There are some big names on the list once we get past the top 10 including A.J. Brown, Justin Jefferson, Nico Collins, and Drake London. All of these guys are WRs you want moving forward so bid as much as you can stomach if you need WR help.
Tight Ends
There were seven TEs among the 50 most chopped players in Week 11 which is two more than last week.
Team | Position | Player | Chopped% |
---|---|---|---|
KC | TE | Travis Kelce | 21.1% |
SF | TE | George Kittle | 17.6% |
MIN | TE | T.J. Hockenson | 14.7% |
ATL | TE | Kyle Pitts | 14.3% |
GB | TE | Tucker Kraft | 13.4% |
ARI | TE | Trey McBride | 12.9% |
BAL | TE | Mark Andrews | 12.8% |
Travis Kelce feels like he should have been higher than the sixth most chopped last week after a brutal eight yards on two catches against the Bills. He tends to come on in the later part of the season so don't write Kelce off just yet, and he’s worth somewhere in the $75-$100 range.
Trey McBride was chopped at a 12.9% rate courtesy of a week off but he’s back and could be very helpful for guillotine teams. Don't go crazy, but $50 seems about right for a top 4 TE.
Standard Waivers TE
Taysom Hill is always a gamble but at this point in the season, he’s similar to other spotty TEs. If he’s free in your league and you're lacking an elite TE, grab him for $15.
