Denver Post: Broncos RB Peyton Hillis became the 14th RB, and arguably the
most unlikely, to have a 100-yard rushing game since HC Shanahan took
charge of the Broncos in 1995. Considered a fullback with the potential to
convert to an H-back/tight end role when he was drafted from Arkansas,
Hillis became the Broncos' TB by injury default. Michael Pittman, Andre Hall and Ryan Torain suffered season-ending injuries, and a 4th back,
season-opening starter Selvin Young, essentially has missed seven games
with a groin injury. At first, Hillis was considered a stopgap option, but
he has become so much more. "He hits it hard. He hits the holes. He breaks
a lot of tackles," Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler said. "It's going to be
interesting to see what happens, because I don't think he's going to give
that position up (easily)." Even with the team signing tailback Tatum Bell
and Young almost healthy enough to return, Hillis is expected to remain the
Broncos' primary TB. "There are a lot of great running backs behind me or
laid up a little bit, so it may turn out that I don't stay in this
position," Hillis said. "That's why it's so important that I step up and do
the job once I got the opportunity."

Akron Beacon Journal: Browns quarterback Derek Anderson is headed to
injured reserve after suffering a torn medial collateral ligament in his
left knee Sunday against Indianapolis. Tuesday's MRI revealed the tear, but
no surgery will be required. Anderson will wear a brace and is expected to
recover in four to six weeks. Anderson started Cleveland's first eight
games and went 3-5. He regained his job against the Colts after Brady Quinn
was placed on IR with a fractured index finger on his throwing hand that
also has tendon damage.

News Democrat: Was he gassed or wasn't he? Jackson, who had missed 4
of the last 5 games because of a strained right calf muscle, rushed
for a game-high 94 yards on 21 carries. However, Jackson only had 6
carries in the 2nd half and just 2 in the 4th quarter. What happened?
The answer depended on who you asked. "He was gassed and his leg was
starting to bother him," Rams HC Haslett said. "We told him before
the game, 'Go as far as you can go, and then we'll play with other
guys.' That's basically what happened." Jackson disputed Haslett's
claim of fatigue and was clearly annoyed at the presumption. "No, I
wasn't gassed," Jackson said. "I had 21 carries and I felt great, so
it wasn't me and my conditioning. I wish he (Haslett) would stop
saying that." Jackson said his inactivity in the 4th quarter had more
to do with scheme and the situation than his health. Jackson, who
hadn't taken a hit since Nov. 2, said he expected about 15 carries
coming into the game just to make sure his injured leg didn't get
overworked. Afterward, he said he was feeling some discomfort but
nothing worse than he experienced during the game.

Cleveland Plain Dealer: Browns Quarterback Derek Anderson,
seeking to salvage his Browns career or open new doors
elsewhere over the last five games, suffered a ligament
injury to his left knee with 1:07 to play on a sack by
Colts end Robert Mathis. Anderson said he felt "burn and
pain" and will get a thorough examination Monday. At the
very least, he knows his medial collateral ligament is
sprained. "I'm not encouraged by the way he came off the
field," said HC Crennel. The Browns are 4-8 after losing
for the sixth time in seven home games. This is how regimes
come tumbling down -- in an avalanche of losses, off-field
embarrassments and QB injuries. Brady Quinn's done for the
year. Now probably Anderson. Even before the game, ESPN's
Chris Mortensen reported it would take "a miracle finish"
for Crennel to save his job. Make that a miracle times two.

Bengals.com: Carson Palmer is set to throw for the first time in his rehab
program Sunday, but HC Lewis on Monday wouldn't rule him out for the rest
of the year. Lewis confirmed thar safety Marvin White is the 21st player
to go on season-eding injured reserve with a ruptured ACL in his knee, but
he excpects him to be back in time for training camp. Tight end Ben Utecht
could be the 22nd. He suffered the same injury -- a tear in the bottom of
the foot where the arch is supported -- that has cost safety Chinedum
Ndukwe the last three games. Ndukwe could be back, Lewis, said, but the
team may have to go get a safety to replace White. Lewis said it would use
the roster spot.

Baltimore Sun: Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said he will
continue to use three running backs for the rest of the
season, and he also said the team has plans for veteran
Willis Mcgahee even though McGahee didn't play Sunday
against the Bengals. In fact, you didn't know if that was
McGahee or Batman on the sideline because McGahee spent so
much time in a cape. But I don't think Harbaugh was lying.
He has always delivered on these kind of statements during
his short time in Baltimore. I think the time off gives
McGahee time to heal, and he'll be fresh later in the
season. I like what the Ravens are doing with big running
back Le'Ron McClain, but a healthy McGahee gives the
running attack another dimension. We haven't seen the last
of McGahee for this season. Now, as for next season, that's
another story ...

Washington Post: Predictably, Redskins HC Zorn spent a good deal of his
press conference fielding questions about Campbell, including one from a
reporter who asked if a QB change was in order. Zorn is tuning out the
noise. He knows Campbell isn't perfect - Zorn called the passer's
performance against the Giants "very average" - but the problems run much
deeper than the one position that draws the most attention (judging by talk
radio and my inbox today). Zorn, to the surprise of none of the schlubs who
cover this team on a regular basis, dismissed any notion of a QB
controversy and hasn't considered a change. His best QB is on the field for
every snap, and will continue to be as long as he is healthy. I know it's
difficult for some people to get beyond the December Todd Collins had last
year, but times have changed. Zorn is trying to develop Campbell into a
franchise QB and the kid is doing a fine job, all things considered. Zorn
is demanding more of him and holds him, admittedly, to the highest standard
possible ("I want him to play mistake-free," Zorn said), but he is taking a
less myopic look at the scope of the offensive woes than a lot of fans and
media types. His confidence in Campbell is strong and he sees lots of
positives in every outing, even one as mundane as Sunday's.

Mlive.com: Lions QB Don Orlovsky was throwing some passes during individual
drills, but did not take part in practice.

Pittsburgh Gazette: Willie Parker returned to start
yesterday. He and Mewelde Moore then split the duties at
HB. It worked well because the Steelers' 161 yards were the
most on the ground since they had 164 in the 2nd game at
CLE. Uncharacteristically, the Steelers had slipped to 24th
in the league on the rush. Parker carried 16 times and ran
for 87 yards. Moore ran 12 times for 67 yards. Parker
missed 5 full games and parts of two others this season
with a sprained MCL and shoulder injury. He left in the 3rd
quarter of their game Nov. 20 when his knee was hurt
again." I came out great and I feel good," Parker said. "I
am not where I need to be, but I feel a lot better. I never
thought I would be happy with something like [splitting
time at the position]. I think that is the perfect thing
for me right now. It's a good thing for the team, helping
this team out."

Mlive.com: The Lions placed receiver Mike Furrey on injured reserve list
today because of lingering symptoms from a concussion he suffered on the
opening kickoff against the Jacksonville Jaguars. While Furrey continued to
play in that game before getting pulled, he has not played since. Taking
his place on the roster is free agent receiver Keary Colbert. That means
that three of Detroit's five receivers (including John Standeford and Adam Jennings) were not on the team's roster for the first half of the season).
Rookie tackle Gosder Cherilus did not take part in the team's light
practice today, nor did rookie running back Kevin Smith. Three starting
offensive linemen who missed all or part of the Thanksgiving Day game --
center Dominic Raiola and guards Edwin Mulitalo and Stephen Peterman -- all
returned to practice.

Herald Tribune: Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker did not
return Sunday after being leveled late in the third quarter
by Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark. The Patriots did
not announce the nature or severity of his injury. With
Pittsburgh leading 23-10 during their 33-10 win, Matt Cassel's pass to Welker went incomplete and the receiver
was knocked down by Clark, who was penalized 15 yards for
unnecessary roughness. New England ended up losing a fumble
on that series. "It was not like I was trying to be cheap,"
Clark said. "Anybody that comes across (the middle), it is
my job to tackle them. The ball got tipped, but (the
official) said I should not have left my feet. ... I talked
to Kevin Faulk and apologized." Faulk said, "If Wes Welker
stays down, then it must have been a pretty hard hit."

Steelers waived RB Najeh Davenport.

Cleveland Plain Dealer: The Browns will head into their
final four games with third-stringer Ken Dorsey and, yes,
Josh Cribbs as their top two quarterbacks. That stretch
begins Sunday on the road against the 11-1 Titans.

Houston Chronicle: The Texans will not know until close to game
time Monday night if quarterback Matt Schaub is healthy enough to
back up Sage Rosenfels against the Jaguars. "Sage will start,"
coach Gary Kubiak said after Saturday's practice. "Matt's made a
lot of progress, and he's gotten better each day. He took all the
reps today with the scout team. "If we feel good about his
practice, then he'll go into the game as the backup. But if we
don't feel good about it, he won't suit up." Schaub has been out
since suffering a torn knee ligament on Nov. 2 at Minnesota.
Rosenfels is 1-2 as a starter during the three games Schaub has
missed. Craig Nall has been the backup to Rosenfels. "He (Schaub)
is not himself, but he's awfully close," Kubiak said. "He's made a
lot more progress than we thought he'd make." Schaub, who didn't
throw until the week before the Cleveland game (Nov. 23), won't
enter the Jaguars game unless he's capable of playing if something
happens to Rosenfels.

Pittsburgh Gazette: Steelers running back Willie Parker practiced
for the second successive day Friday despite left knee
inflammation and could play Sunday at New England. Parker is
listed as questionable; Steelers players who practice on the
Friday before games usually play.

Rocky Mountain News: Broncos WR Eddie Royal, who was held out of
practice Wednesday because of a toe injury and was limited
Thursday and Friday, is expected to play.

Rocky Mountain News: Broncos Champ Bailey, linebacker Nate Webster
(knee) and running back Selvin Young (groin) are listed as
questionable. The Broncos will give each of the three another look
today and perhaps even pregame, but they likely will have to show
some improvement to be in the lineup.

Houston Chronicle: The Texans are optimistic that rookie running
back Steve Slaton is ready to carry an even heavier load Monday.
He is nursing a sore chest from when he landed on a ball a few
weeks ago, but Slaton said the rest in practice last week and the
extended break this week have helped him heal quickly. Slaton
said he is ready for more responsibility this week with Ahman Green on injured reserve. Ryan Moats will back up Slaton and Cecil Sapp will play halfback as well. "Naturally, we don't want
(Slaton) to play as many plays as he did against Minnesota, but
he's very capable of playing 45, 50 plays a game," coach Gary
Kubiak said. "He's shown that. He's having a heck of a year. He's
right there battling with some of these other guys around the
league. " So, we're just excited to see him continue to move
forward."

Contra Costa Times: Raiders TE Zach Miller (groin strain) who is
listed as "questionable" and was limited in practice is expected
to be ready to play in Week 13.

Washington Post: Redskins offensive stalwarts Clinton Portis, who
leads the NFL in rushing, and left tackle Chris Samuels were
sidelined from practice this week with knee injuries that have
nagging for a few weeks. Neither has missed a game and both are
expected to play Sunday, although they are also listed as
questionable.

ESPN: Giants WR Domenik Hixon and defensive ends Justin Tuck
(lower leg) and Jerome McDougle (knee) all practiced fully Friday
and are probable for Sunday's game.

Washington Post: Friday, Redskins WR Santana Moss was fined $5,000
for punching cornerback Josh Wilson in the second quarter of last
week's game. Moss drew a 15-yard penalty on the play.

Florida Times Union: Jaguars receiver Mike Walker missed practice
Friday, hours after a friend was fatally stabbed inside an Orlando
nightclub. Jacksonville HC Del Rio said in a statement that "Mike
came to me this morning prior to meetings to tell me that he was
visiting friends in Orlando. He explained that a friend was
stabbed and died. I excused him from practice today to deal with
this situation." Orlando police say 23-year-old Winfred L. Ezell
was fatally stabbed inside Club Whispers during an argument Friday
around 2:26 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. The team
said Walker was home when the incident occurred. The incident
comes after Jaguars left tackle Richard Collier was shot 14 times
on Sept. 2 left paralyzed from the waist down. He had his left leg
amputated below the knee.

participating fully after being held out Wednesday.

to a full workout Friday and will start this weekend.

4for4 reports: Jets K Mike Nugent (right thigh probable) is
improving but he's not a lock to kick this weekend. The Jets are
comfortable with Jay Feely kicking.

4for4 reports: Saints RB Reggie Bush is officially listed as
questionable due to his knee. He was limited at practice all week
including Friday. He's a game time call and even if he plays, he's
not a lock to get most of the RB touches this weekend.

4for4 reports: Bucs TE Alexander Smith (ankle) has an outside
chance of starting this week but he's officially listed as
questionable.

Times Picayune: Saints tailback Reggie Bush is officially listed
as questionable for Sunday's game at Tampa Bay after he practiced
on a limited basis Friday. But both he and Coach Sean Payton said
they fully expect him to play against the Buccaneers. Bush
practiced every day this week on a limited basis -- his heaviest
workload since he tore the meniscus in his left knee on Oct. 19 at
Carolina. He didn't suffer any setbacks and said he felt good all
week.

4for4 reports: Ravens RB Leron Mcclain (thigh probable) did
limited work at practice Friday and that should be enough for him
to start this weekend.

4for4 reports: Browns RB Jerome Harrison (hamstring) got some work
in Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. He's expected to play.

4for4 reports: Bills TE Derek Schouman (hamstring) did light reps
again on Friday and remains a little iffy for week 13. Still, with
Royal out, they'll need to get him dressed, if at all possible.

4for4 reports: Falcons RB Jerious Norwood (rib) got some limited
reps in all week including Friday. He's more on the probable side
despite the team calling him questionable. Also, keep in mind,
down the stretch the Falcons would like to take some wear-n-tear
off Michael Turner. Norwood could see more work when he's fully
healthy.

4for4 reports: Bengals WR T.j. Houshmandzadeh (back) took full
reps Friday. He's listed as probable and will play as usual.

Atlanta Journal Constitution: Falcons TE Brn Hartsock is set to
get a second and third opinion on his big toe/plantar fasciitis
injury that lead to him being placed on injured reserve.

4for4 reports: The Packers are expected to be without 3rd string
RB Deshawn Wynn this weekend due to his calf problem.

4for4 reports: Ravens TE Todd Heap (illness) took reps Friday and
is on track to play this weekend.

4for4 reports: Chiefs WR Mark Bradley is a questionable game time
call due to his lingering calf injury.

4for4 reports: Raiders TE Zach Miller (groin questionable) missed
some reps this week and again on Friday. Still, word is he should
be able to play. To be safe, treat him as a game time call.

4for4 reports: Packers WR Greg Jennings (rib) is probable and
expected to start this weekend against Carolina.

ESPN: Browns QB Brady Quinn is still deciding whether to have
surgery on his damaged right index finger. Quinn is done for the
season after breaking the finger on his throwing hand, an injury
he made worse by playing in Sunday's loss to the Texans. Doctors
have given the second-year QB two options: have an operation or
immobilize his finger in a splint for six weeks. It's possible
even if Quinn chooses rest as his course of recovery, he may still
need surgery if the injury doesn't heal properly. He was asked if
he's leaning in one direction. "At this point, not really," Quinn
said Friday before watching his teammates prepare for Sunday's
game against Indianapolis. "I'll just sound out all the different
advice and make a decision once I feel confident about something."
The medical advice he has gotten so far has been split.

4for4 reports: Packers backup RB Brandon Jackson (ankle) is
expected to play this week. After being limited at practice
Wednesday he did fine Thursday and Friday.

New York Newsday: It's widely assumed Jay Feely will handle the
placekicking duties until he has a few hiccups, but coach Eric
Mangini didn't divulge who he'll go with Sunday. "I make that
decision at the end of the week," he said before practice. "We do
some more kicking today and we will look at the body of work
throughout the week."

4for4 reports: Jets WR Laveranues Coles (thigh) will start after
playing through the same injury almost all season. You can
basically ignore the fact the Jets called him "limited" after
practice Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week.

4for4 reports: Patriots RB Lamont Jordan (calf) could play some
this weekend. Treat him as a game time call, but don't expect much
as he's going to be rusty. In any case, New England will need
their running game working this weekend as the Steelers have done
a superb job of shutting down big name receivers this year.

4for4 reports: Redskins RB Clinton Portis (knee, oblique
questionable) did not take part in team drills all week. He's "50-
50" to play according to Coach Jim Zorn. Treat Portis as a game
time call.

4for4 reports: Rams QB Marc Bulger (concussion) has practiced the
past couple of days and should be able to play Sunday.

4for4 reports: Broncos WR Brandon Marshall (hip) is on track to
start. He took all his reps this week.

ESPN: Tom Brady says he's doing well in his recovery from knee
surgery. The New England Patriots quarterback made an unpublicized
appearance Wednesday with his girlfriend, model Gisele Bundchen,
at the annual Goodwill Thanksgiving dinner in Boston where they
served food. He told Channel 5 that he's "doing well" more than
two months after a season-ending injury to his left knee in the
opener. He also said Thanksgiving is his favorite holiday. The
television station's Web site, TheBostonChannel.com, said Brady
appeared to be walking without a limp. He had an operation for
torn ligaments on Oct. 6 and subsequent surgeries after a
postoperative infection developed. He has been rehabilitating this
month at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.

added to the Ravens injury report Friday due to a back problem. We
never like it when a WR is downgraded on a Friday.
Treat Clayton as an iffy game time call. Even if he plays, his
sore back could flair.

injury report, practicing on a limited basis due to a tight lower

his reps for the third consecutive day Friday. He's expected to
start.

4for4 reports: Falcons WR Brian Finneran (hamstring questionable)
should be able to play this weekend however, he was limited at
practice all week.

work this week and remains questionable for week 13.

full reps Thursday but was limited at practice Friday. He should
be able to play.

Times Picayune: Saints Fullback Mike Karney (knee) has officially
been ruled out for Sunday's game. Defensive end Jeff Charleston

listed as questionable.

Greer won't play because of injuries when Buffalo hosts the 49ers
on Sunday. Royal hurt his hamstring in the Bills' win at KC on
Sunday and didn't practice all week. Greer's right knee was
injured against Cleveland two weeks ago and he'll miss his second
straight game. Starting strong safety Donte Whitner, who's nursing
a separated shoulder, is doubtful. Whitner has missed two of the
last 3 games since hurting the shoulder against the New York Jets
on Nov. 2. Backup defensive lineman John McCargo (back) and backup
LB Teddy Lehman (hamstring) are out, while starting LB Keith
Ellison (ankle) and TE Derek Schouman (hamstring) are
questionable.

AP reports: The Steelers re-signed running back Najeh Davenport
and released rookie cornerback Roy Lewis on Thursday. Davenport
spent the 2006 and 2007 seasons with Pittsburgh but was released
in June. He was re-signed in October after Willie Parker injured a
knee, first-round draft pick Rashard Mendenhall was lost for the
season with a shoulder injury and fullback Carey Davis sprained an
ankle. He was released again Nov. 8.

Newark Star Ledger: Giants WR Domenik Hixon (ankle), DE Jerome
McDougle (knee) and DE Justin Tuck (lower leg) are probable.

St. Louis Dispatch: Cagey Jim Haslett wasn't tipping his hand,
even after RB Steven Jackson finished 3 straight days of practice
by taking the majority of the snaps with the first team Friday. "I
thought he did OK. I'll have to see how he feels," Haslett said.
"I thought he got better as the week went on. I'll talk to him and
we'll make a decision by the game." Jackson, who has been hampered
by a strained thigh muscle, was listed as "questionable" on the
final injury report of the week, which under NFL guidelines means
his chances of playing Sunday against the Dolphins are 50-50. But
here's the real poop: Unless Jackson suffers an unexpected setback
between now and the noon kickoff at the Dome, he'll be uniform -
and probably in the starting lineup - for just the 2nd time in 6
weeks.

Chicago Tribune: Bears S Mike Brown, WR Marty Booker and tight end
Desmond Clark returned to practice Thursday in limited duty as the
Bears prepared for Sunday night's game at Minnesota. All three
missed Wednesday's practice while nursing injuries: Brown a
bruised calf, Booker a bruised left knee and Clark a sprained
right knee. None of the injuries is as serious as cornerback
Nathan Vasher's, whose season is expected to be over after he
fractured his right hand and reinjured his thumb against the Rams.
Corey Graham will replace him. End Adewale Ogunleye was asked if
the loss of Vasher puts more pressure on the defensive line to
excel. "I think so," Ogunleye said. "I think any game of this
magnitude starts with the guys up front. [It's] even of more
importance with a guy like Nathan Vasher out. But we do have a lot
of confidence in Corey Graham."

Cleveland Plain Dealer: Playing Brady Quinn with a fracture on the
tip of his right index finger apparently was the wrong thing to
do. Quinn will not play again this season, according to a source
familiar with the injury, and may have surgery to repair the
tendon on the last joint of the finger. Quinn originally broke the
tip of the finger hitting it on a helmet of a Buffalo player in
the game against the Bills on Nov. 17. X-rays taken two days later
revealed a small fracture. Multiple doctors had presented Quinn
with three options upon examining the X-rays. He could play
through pain, immobilize it in a split for four to six weeks, or
have surgery. The injury worsened, said the source, by practicing
for the next game and playing in the Browns' 16-6 loss to Houston
on Sunday.

St. Louis Dispatch: The Rams made several roster moves Tuesday,
cutting starting FB Dan Kreider and placing starting center Nick
Leckey (broken foot) on injured reserve. Replacing them on the
active roster are center Cory Withrow and outside linebacker Larry
Grant. With Leckey done for the year, coach Jim Haslett said that
Brett Romberg would start at center Sunday against the Dolphins.

Times Picayune: At this point, it appears likely no suspensions
will be handed down this week for Saints TB Deuce Mcallister and
DEs Will Smith and Charles Grant. Typically, the NFL announces
suspensions early in the week so teams don't begin game-planning
and practicing with players who won't be available. The three
Saints are facing possible 4-game suspensions after testing
positive for a banned diuretic this summer. But they all chose to
appeal the decision, and they flew to New York for an appeals
hearing last week.

Philadelphiaeagles.com: Eagles RB Correll Buckhalter (knee) did
not practice Wednesday.

Cleveland Plain Dealer: Browns QB Derek Anderson will return as
starter.

Contra Costa Times: Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker was placed
on injured reserve Wednesday, with the Raiders signed guard Dylan
Gandy to the 53-man roster. Walker had ankle surgery after being
injured against Carolina on Nov. 9.

Washington Post: Redskins TB Ladell Betts continues to look better
after suffering a knee injury and Zorn said he looked "very good"
at practice today.

Tacoma News: Seahawks WR Koren Robinson is listed as probable for
week #13.

Washington Post: Redskins RB Clinton Portis, who added a rib
muscle strain to his array of injuries, also sat out, but overall
is feeling "a little bit better," Zorn said, with the rib muscle
problem not severe, the coach said.

Times Picayune: The Saints had no new injuries to report
following their 51-29 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Monday
night, and they're actually hoping to get more firepower back in
the lineup for this week's game at Tampa Bay. TB Reggie Bush said,
"I definitely feel like this is the week." He has missed the past
four games after tearing the meniscus in his left knee, but he has
been inching closer to a return, increasing his workload in
practice each of the past two weeks.

ESPN: Brady Quinn finally got his chance, but it's not going to
end the way he envisioned. After only three starts, the Cleveland
Browns quarterback will be shut down for the season with a broken
index finger, sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen on Tuesday.
FoxSports.com first reported that Quinn would be shut down.
Sources told ESPN that the team has not determined whether surgery
will be necessary, but Quinn must stop all football activity for
at least six weeks, ending his season.

Mlive.com: Lions QB Dan Orlovsky (thumb) and center Dominic Raiola
(thumb) already have been ruled out of the game Thursday.

Minneapolis Star Tribune: With Adrian Peterson's 242 rushing
attempts ranking as the 3rd most in the NFL this season behind
Atlanta's Michael Turner (251) and Washington's Clinton Portis
(244), Vikings HC Childress has been looking for ways to lighten
Peterson's workload. Last Thursday, Childress held his Pro Bowl
running back out of practice in order to give him a rest. After
the Vikings' 30-12 victory over Jacksonville on Sunday - a game in
which Peterson did not play in the first 2 series because he was
late for a team meeting Saturday - Childress said he planned to
"change it up with Chester [Taylor] a good bit, coming down the
homestretch." Taylor, who finished with 25 yards and a touchdown
on 9 carries Sunday, has been the Vikings' primary back in 3rd-
down situations. But 2 years after rushing for 1,216 yards on 303
carries, Taylor is at 247 yards on 70 carries this season.
Overall, Taylor has 107 touches, including 29 receptions and 8
kickoff returns.

AP reports: Seattle RB Julius Jones will start on the road against
Dallas in the Thanksgiving Day game, four days after being
benched. Coach Mike Holmgren says he expects Jones to be motivated
to play against his former team. Jones was dumped by Dallas last
season before he became a free agent. This season, Jones has 637
yards rushing and two touchdowns in 11 games, including nine
starts. Jones was a starter while Maurice Morris missed three
games with a sprained knee early in the season. Holmgren has said
he would use both backs throughout the season. Morris gave Seattle
its first 100-yard rushing day since Week 3 in last weekend's loss
to Washington. Morris has 278 yards rushing in eight games,
including two starts.

St. Louis Dispatch: The Rams quarterback Marc Bulger was
suited up and practicing today at Rams Park. Bulger suffered a
concussion on the fifth play last Sunday against the Bears. He was
scheduled to have a neuro exam this morning. Apparently he passed.

Tampa Tribune: Bucs QB Brian Griese (Right Elbow) was limited in
practice Wednesday.

Boston Globe: Lamont Jordan back at practice Wednesday. The
Patriots are holding their afternoon practice on the upper fields
behind Gillette Stadium and RB Lamont Jordan was present for the
media-access portion of the session. Jordan has not played since
injuring his calf Oct. 5 in San Francisco.

Minneapolis Star Tribune: Vikings coach Brad Childress has been
looking for ways to lighten Peterson's workload. Last Thursday,
Childress held his Pro Bowl RB out of practice in order to give
him a rest.

New York Daily News: If you're scoring at home, please add RB
Ahmad Bradshaw to your injury report with a stiff neck that kept
him out of this afternoon's practice. Don't worry, though.
Bradshaw said it was OK even though he spent the entire practice
session inside getting treatment. He also said he had
precautiounary X-Rays taken that showed no damage. "I pretty much
knew it wasn't that bad," he said. "Hopefully it'll be 10 times
better tomorrow." Incidentally, he said he hurt his neck early in
the game on "a little toss play."

Philly.com: Eagles HC Reid gave no indication Monday about how
long a leash QB Donovan Mcnabb might be on. Given the chance to
say that McNabb was the starter for the rest of the season, Reid
walked away from the podium. "I wouldn't look at it like I'm on a
short leash," McNabb said. "I think a lot of people can make a lot
of assumptions about what happened in the last game. I'm going to
go out and do what I'm supposed to do at the position and
everything will take care of itself." Asked whether his
relationship with Reid can be the same following the benching,
McNabb said, "I think it can… The relationship is where it was and
where it should be. In asking me that question, you would have to
ask Andy that same question." On whether he would be looking over
his shoulder, McNabb said, "Not at all." It was clear, though,
that turnovers are on McNabb's mind. Reid said Monday that the
turnover-prone QB of the past few weeks is not the real McNabb,
who at one point this season had the lowest interception % in NFL
history. McNabb has 5 interceptions and 2 lost fumbles in the last
2 games.

AP reports: Former NFL MVP Shaun Alexander was released by the
Redskins on Tuesday after getting only 11 carries in five games.
Alexander was signed Oct. 14 after backup Ladell Betts sprained
his knee in a loss to the St. Louis Rams. Betts has since returned
and resumed the No. 2 role behind NFL leading rusher Clinton Portis. Alexander was looking to make a comeback after foot and
wrist injuries ruined his last two seasons and prompted the
Seattle Seahawks to cut him in April. However, in his limited
carries with the Redskins, the 31-year-old back never showed
anything close to the form that helped him rush for 1,880 yards in
his 2005 MVP season.

Pittsburgh Gazette: Steelers RB Mewelde Moore will start at
halfback if Parker cannot return.

Houston Chronicle: Texans RB Steve Slaton, who has chest and rib
injuries, will start the Monday night game against Jacksonville.
Ryan Moats, who is nursing a sore ankle, will be the backup. Cecil Sapp can play running back as well as fullback. If the Texans sign
another back, it could be Darius Walker, who is still available
since they waived him the last time.

Detroit News: Lions signed Drew Henson off the practice squad, and
the former Michigan star is expected to serve as the No. 2
quarterback Thanksgiving Day. Coach Rod Marinelli says backup
quarterback Dan Orlovsky is out with a broken hand.

Washington Times: Donovan Mcnabb will start when the Eagles host
the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday night. The five-time Pro Bowl
quarterback was benched for the first time in his career at
halftime of Philadelphia's 36-7 loss at Baltimore on Sunday.
Second-year pro Kevin Kolb played poorly against the Ravens, and
Eagles coach Andy Reid said Monday he's going back to McNabb.
"Sometimes you have to step back to step forward in a positive
way, and Donovan will do that," Reid said. "This has nothing to do
with Kolb's performance or Donovan's performance." The Eagles (5-
5-1) are on the verge of missing the playoffs for the third time
in four years since losing the 2005 Super Bowl. No matter how they
finish, this could be McNabb's last season in Philadelphia.

Charlotte Observer: Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme suffered a
cut on his right (throwing) elbow during the first half of
Sunday's 45-28 loss to Atlanta, but he doesn't expect it to slow
him this week. Delhomme said Monday he believes the cut happened
when his elbow was hit by the facemask of a Falcons defender.
Initially, he said the injury felt like a bruise. However, he was
bleeding and doctors used a stitch to close the cut at halftime.
Delhomme had reconstructive surgery on the elbow during the
offseason to repair ligament damage. Delhomme said he could play
immediately if necessary, and flexed his right arm several times
quickly to show reporters he's not hindered by the injury.

Houston Chronicle: The Texans are expected to place running back
Ahman Green on injured reserve today, ending his season, and, in
all probability, his career in Houston. Green, 31, suffered a
sprained knee in Sunday's 16-6 victory at Cleveland. Coach Gary
Kubiak said that doctors were worried that Green would miss
several weeks. At this crucial point in the season, which has five
games remaining, the Texans could not afford to wait on Green to
get healthy. Green had been in and out of the lineup because of
knee, groin and hamstring injuries in his two seasons with the
Texans. He'll finish this season with 74 carries for 294 yards and
three touchdowns. In his two seasons Green will have made more
than $11 million.

ESPN: Michael Vick arrived in a suit and shackles for a court
appearance Tuesday where he was expected to plead guilty to state
dogfighting charges, a necessary step to make him eligible for
early release. Federal law prohibits prisoners from being released
to a halfway house if there are unresolved charges pending. A plea
agreement between Vick's legal team and Surry County Commonwealth
Attorney Gerald Poindexter calls for the former Atlanta Falcons
star to plead guilty to two felony counts -- beating or killing or
causing dogs to fight other dogs and engaging in or promoting
dogfighting -- in Surry County Circuit Court.

Cleveland Plain Dealer: Browns QB Brady Quinn will have his
injured right index finger examined by noted orthopedist Dr. James
Andrews in order to get a second opinion.

News Democrat: In order to play this Sunday against the Dolphins,
Rams quarterback Marc Bulger must pass a neuropsych test on
Wednesday. Bulger sustained a concussion after being sacked on his
first offensive series of the Rams' 27-3 loss to the Chicago Bears
on Sunday. Bulger also sustained a concussion last season against
the Seattle Seahawks that required him to be hospitalized, and he
sustained a concussion against Arizona in the 2005 season. "I
thought he cleared up pretty, and at the end of the game he felt
good,'' Haslett said of Bulger. "I don't think it's as bad as the
ones in his past.'' If Bulger can't play against the Dolphins,
Haslett said Trent Green would start in his place.

Palm Beach Post: Greg Camarillo, the Dolphins leading receiver,
will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury suffered
in Sunday's 48-28 loss to New England. "Camarillo is not good -
he's done,'' coach Tony Sparano said today. "It's hard. You don't
want to lose a player like him. "Somebody has to pick up the
slack.'' Camarillo injured his left knee in the fourth quarter,
but Sparano did not provide details about the injury.

St. Petersburg Times: As Antonio Bryant has emerged as the Bucs'
go-to receiver, it is becoming increasingly difficult for the Bucs
to find playing time for Joey Galloway, who missed much of
training camp and the early part of the season with groin and foot
injuries. "We're hoping to get him on the field more and more,''
Gruden said, "but the bottom line is us trying to find a way to
win a football game.''

TSN: Donovan Mcnabb found himself in an unfamiliar position coming
out of the locker room trailing 10-7 against the Baltimore Ravens
on Sunday. The Philadelphia Eagles' franchise quarterback of 10
seasons was benched in favor of Kevin Kolb, who the club selected
with its second-round pick in the 2007 draft. The Eagles went on
to lose the game, 36-7, but what's more is that McNabb may not
start under center on Thursday against Arizona. Head coach Andy
Reid gave no indication as to whether McNabb or Kolb would start
against the Cardinals. "There's no time for a competition right
now," Reid said. "We don't have a lot of time here, so it's got to
be done by tomorrow." McNabb was less than stellar in Sunday's
game against the Ravens, as he threw two interceptions and lost a
fumble while hitting a mere 8-of-18 throws for 59 yards.

AP reports: Rams quarterback Marc Bulger sustained a concussion
on a sack in the team's first series against Chicago on Sunday,
and his status for next week's game was uncertain. Bulger was
unavailable after the game, but coach Jim Haslett thought the
quarterback's condition had improved before the end of the game,
saying, "I thought he looked fine in the second half." Bulger
lasted only five plays in a 27-3 loss to the Bears. He was hurt
when the Bears' Adewale Ogunleye came in untouched for an 8-yard
loss to end the first possession and finished 2-for-2 for 11
yards.

Charlotte Observer: Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme wore a
long, elastic wrap on his right (throwing) arm while on the
sideline late in Sunday's 45-28 loss against the Atlanta Falcons
in the Georgia Dome. Delhomme, who had Tommy John elbow surgery
last season, said the elbow was hit during the game but was fine.
His statistics against the Falcons bear that out: Delhomme
completed 21-of-35 passes for 295 yards and a touchdown. He
bounced back from consecutive sub-par performances against Oakland
and Detroit the past two games.

Times Picayune: Saints running back Reggie Bush will be inactive
for tonight's game against the Green Bay Packers. Other inactives
for the Saints: cornerback Aaron Glenn, cornerback David Pittman,
fullback Mike Karney, linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar, tackle Jermon
Bushrod, receiver David Patten and Joey Harrington (as the third
quarterback).

Charlotte Observer: Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart, who has had toe
and heel problems this season, wore a protective boot on his left
foot after the game. But that was precautionary, too, according to
team spokesman Steven Drummond.

Denver Post: Broncos CB Champ Bailey and running back Selvin Young
likely will be back next week against the Jets, and linebackers
D.J. Williams and Nate Webster and safety Marlon McCree all should
return a week after that.

St. Petersburg Times: With Earnest Graham out for the season with
an ankle injury, 33-year-old Warrick Dunn will continue to carry
the rushing load for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, coach Jon Gruden
said. "We want to put the ball in our best player's hands,''
Gruden said Monday during his weekly news conference at One Buc
Place. mDunn had 127 total yards during the Bucs' 38-20 victory
over the Lions Sunday in Detroit. He rushed for a game-high 90
yards on 14 carries, including a 13-yard touchdown, and caught
five passes for 37 yards.

St. Petersburg Times: Bucs RB Cadillac Williams closed out the
fourth quarter and finished with a team-high 16 carries for 27
yards in his first game back from a severe knee injury. "I thought
the more (Williams) ran, the better he got,'' Gruden said. "I
thought it was very good for him. He needed that live activity for
himself to get acquainted to what it's like.''

Palm Beach Post: The Dolphins will rely on wideouts Ted Ginn Jr.
(43 catches, 596 yards, one TD) and rookie Davone Bess (24, 323,
1), but they might also call on their biggest free-agent signing
of the off-season - former Jacksonville wideout Ernest Wilford,
who has been on the inactive list for seven straight games.
"Ernest Wilford has been getting better and better every single
week out there on the practice field,'' Sparano said. Bess had
his most productive game of the season Sunday, catching five
passes for 87 yards. "It's definitely devastating,'' Bess said of
Camarillo's injury. "He took me and some of the younger guys under
his wing. "I'm always ready when my number is called. It's an
opportunity for me to step up. Too bad it happened in this type of
situtaion, to lose a key guy.''

Cleveland Plain Dealer: Browns HC Crennel said today that Brady Quinn is still his starting quarterback and that he's not on a
short leash. "It's not an issue because he's the quarterback,''
said Crennel. "We like the things he's shown us. We need to help
him more going down the stretch. If we can do that, we might be
able to win a game.'' Crennel reiterated that he benched Quinn in
the third quarter of Sunday's 16-6 loss to the Texans because of
some misreads and because of his fractured right index finger.
"Because of some misreads and my knowledge of the finger
situation, I decided to make the change,'' said Crennel. "If Derek Anderson had provided a spark, Brady Quinn would still be the
starting quarterback.'' He said he told Quinn he had not lost his
job, but that Quinn perhaps didn't fully grasp it because of his
frustration.

At noon ET today, Coach Andy Reid announced that Donovan Mcnabb
will remain the Eagles starting QB this Thursday against the
Arizona Cardinals.

FoxSports: Redskins RB Clinton Portis will start again despite
admitting his knee is about 75 percent.

FoxSports: The Bucs haven't been stretching the field much lately
as WR Joey Galloway has been the odd man out. But word is Galloway
had a very good week of practice and that maybe he and Jeff Garcia
have got their timing down.

TSN: Redskins running back Clinton Portis was limited in practice
on Friday, and is listed as questionable for Sunday's matchup with
the Seahawks. The seventh-year pro has been dealing with a knee
sprain he incurred during the Redskins' 23-6 home loss to
Pittsburgh on November 3. On Friday, Redskins head coach Jim Zorn
termed Portis as being a game-time decision after sitting out
practice Wednesday and Thursday. Portis was questionable leading

ESPN: Lions quarterback Drew Stanton was sidelined against the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a concussion.

Dolphins WR Greg Camarillo left the game against the Patriots in
the second half with a knee injury. His status is uncertain at St.
Louis in Week 13.

Houston Chronicle : When it came to his #2 RB, Gary Kubiak didn't
sound very optimistic after the Texans' 16-6 victory against the
Browns. Kubiak said from what he understands, the Texans may have
to go at least the next 2 weeks without Ahman Green backing up
Steve Slaton. "Unfortunately, Ahman is down," Kubiak said. "It
looks like it could be a few weeks, just talking to (head team
trainer) Kevin (Bastin)." Green frowned when asked about such a
timetable, and said that he is a "fast healer." He will have an
MRI done Monday on his left knee. Last year, he injured the same
knee in the first game. He didn't heal very fast. He played
sparingly in 6 more games before landing on the IR. He said this
injury is different, but he didn't explain exactly how. It wasn't
a topic he was jumping to discuss. The injury itself isn't much of
a surprise, but it is a blow to a team that really does need Green
on the field for the offense to be at its strongest. Green has
been on the field sharing carries with Slaton in all four of the
team's victories. He has been healthy for just four of the 7
defeats. Green said he will do all he can get back on the field
for the MNF game against Jacksonville.

Fox Sports reports: The Cowboys have lost their home-run
hitter in rookie Felix Jones, which hurts the offense as
well as special teams. Dallas doesn't want to run Marion Barber into the ground because they are going to need him
down the stretch, which puts more pressure on QB Tony Romo
to produce

AP reports: Eagles quarterback Donovan Mcnabb was benched after
the first half of Sunday's game against the Ravens following a
miserable performance in which he committed three turnovers and
failing to produce any points. McNabb was 8-for-18 for 59 yards
and two interceptions and a fumble -- a miserable 13.2 quarterback
rating.

Rams QB Marc Bulger left the game against the Bears in the first
quarter after taking a blow to the head. his status is uncertain
vs. Miami in Week #13.

FoxSports: Cowboys WR Terrell Owens continues to criticize
offensive coordinator Jason Garrett's play-calling while saying
that opponents have figured out the Dallas offense and that
Garrett isn't trying anything new. T.O. better realize that
Garrett earns $3.5 million a season and that owner Jerry Jones
believes he will be a head coach one day. One reason the Cowboys
traded for Roy Williams was just in case T.O.'s production started
to slide, which it has.

Patriots RB Sammy Morris left the game against the Dolphins in the
fourth quarter with an apparent leg injury. His status is
uncertain vs. Pittsburgh in Week #13.

Lions QB Drew Stanton left the game against the Buccaneers in the
fourth quarter with a concussion. His status is uncertain vs.
Tennessee in Week 13.

FoxSports: The Cardinals don't want to release veteran RB Edgerrin James, but they also don't believe he hits the hole like Tim Hightower. They want to keep him as insurance in case something
happens to Hightower. One thing to remember about Jacobs and Ward
is that both running backs will be unrestricted free agents in the
off-season.

AP reports: Redskins RB Clinton Portis was limited in practice
Friday with his sprained knee and is listed as questionable for
Sunday's game against the Seahawks. HC Zorn said Portis will be a
game-time decision, although Portis has given every indication
that he will play. He ran for 68 yards on 15 carries in last
week's game against the Cowboys despite not practicing at all.
"Clinton is game-time because he's really not full speed," Zorn

AP reports: Redskins WR Antwaan Randle el is also questionable
with a sprained ankle. "He was a little ginger," Zorn said, "but I
think by game time he'll be ready to go." The Redskins flew to
Seattle after practice to give them a full day to recover from the

St. Petersburg Times: Bucs RB Cadillac Williams has a hamstring
strain and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Detroit.
Williams, who was activated to the 53-man roster from the
physically unable to perform list last week, hoped to get some
playing time after Earnest Graham was placed on IR Wednesday with
a high ankle sprain. In fact, HC Gruden made no mention of
Williams' injury at his Friday news conference. Williams had full
participation in practice Friday. But when the injury report was
released at 4 p.m., Williams was listed as questionable along with
TE Alexander Smith (ankle) and S Jermaine Phillips (broken left
forearm). "Carnell has done some good things and I think he'd be
ready to play," Gruden said. "There's a chance." But Gruden warned
special teams concerns might prevent Williams from being active
Sunday. "I think we'll meet later today and check out the injury
status of everybody and the progress that we feel like the guys
have made," Gruden said. "So there's more to it than just, 'Let's
make a hasty decision here.' We'll let you know. There's a chance
we can get Carnell up."

Courier News: Bears veteran wide receiver Marty Booker will miss
Sunday's game with a bone bruise in one of his knees. He tried
playing on it the last several weeks and has gone three
consecutive games without a catch. "I played on it and I played on
it and it just wasn't getting better," he said. "I always try to
fight through. We have a tough stretch of games we have to win and
I'm hoping I'll be ready for the home stretch."

Courier News: After missing five games with a sprained knee and
returning last week, Bears WR Brandon Lloyd appears on the injury
report now with a calf injury. He was limited in practice and is
probable. Brandon Rideau, who signed a contract that the team will
announce today to be promoted from the practice squad, is expected
to be active for the game. He got extra work after practice this
week on special teams and is a big target at 6-3, 198 pounds. He
had a rapport with QB Kyle Orton during training camp."Brandon had
interest from other teams when he was released at final cuts,"
said Rideau's agent, Ed Wasielewski. "But we felt this was the
right place for him. Now, he has a chance to be a part of the team
that is making a playoff push."

ESPN: Bengals WR Chad Johnson "Ocho Cinco" was back at work
Friday, a day after being sent home before the Pittsburgh game for
disciplinary reasons. HC Lewis wanted to move on from the latest
Bengals controversy, and after the team fell to 1-9-1. The latest
loss Thursday night against the Steelers was a 27-10 defeat in
which the Bengals managed just 208 yards of offense. Lewis said
the punishment fit the violation, and declined to go into details
of the incident. Ocho Cinco was late for a team meeting Wednesday
night, and then had a verbal altercation with a coach or coaches.
"I think, yeah, any time a player has a thing that occurs like
that, you let your teammates down," Lewis said Friday. "I think
any time that you have to sit a player down, it sends a message to
players, because that's the only thing they get and understand."
He said losing playing time often gets players' attention more

shrewd move picking up Tampa Bay RB Carnell "Cadillac" Williams
better not plan on a big comeback Sunday. Williams may not even be
active when the Bucs play at Detroit. "It's not just about
Cadillac," HC Gruden said after practice Wednesday. "It's about
our team. "While Williams is back from his devastating knee injury
of '07 and available, Gruden could not say for certain the 2005
NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year would see action against the
Lions and the league's worst rushing defense. The run of injuries
across the board have depleted personnel for the kicking-game
units. Besides Graham, the Bucs also have lost rookie LB Geno
Hayes to IR after the former Florida State star and 6th-round pick
suffered a knee injury suffered against the Vikings. Hayes was a
fixture on special teams, having blocked a punt and returned it
for a TD in a huge victory over rival Carolina last month.
Activating Williams, who does not play special teams, might be a
luxury the Bucs can't afford right now.

Despite some national reports about fracturing his right
index finger, Coach
Crennel said Quinn would play against the Texans this
weekend.

AP reports: Cowboys rookie RB Felix Jones returned Wednesday to a
portion of practice. Jones is a lot less likely to recover in time
to play the 49ers on Sunday. Jones has been out since hurting a
hamstring Oct. 12 and coach Wade Phillips revealed Wednesday that
"some other things came up during his injury rehab." Phillips said
it wasn't a knee injury, but wasn't any more specific. Neither was
owner Jerry Jones. "There is more. What we are doing is evaluating
that," Jerry Jones said. "There are parts of it we are having to
look at intently and see if he has his strength in some areas, and
some direction." Asked for clarification, the owner responded, "We
are trying to see if he can play at full strength. ... It's not
the hamstring. We are trying to see if the `more' will allow him
to play." The practice report released by the team said the RB had
limited participation Wednesday because of the hamstring.

4for4 reports: Jaguars RB Greg Jones (ankle) got back to
work with teammates Thursday.

Dallas Morning News: Cowboys rookie running back Felix Jones is
done for the season. The team said Thursday that Jones, one of
Dallas' two first-round draft picks, will be placed on injured
reserve because of a big left toe injury sustained while doing
rehabilitation after hurting his left hamstring Oct. 12. Jones
returned to practice on a limited basis Wednesday, but the team
now says that was to evaluate his ability to play with the toe
injury. It is the first time the team confirmed Jones had a
setback during rehab for the hamstring, which has healed. Based on
that practice and an evaluation by a foot and ankle specialist who
reviewed an MRI of Jones' foot, the Cowboys decided Jones couldn't
play again this season.

AP reports: The Vikings are giving Adrian Peterson's body a break.
Peterson was held out of Thursday's practice. He did some running
in the pool instead. Coach Brad Childress says he decided the
NFL's leading rusher needed a day to rest after taking plenty of
hard hits in last week's game against the Buccaneers. Peterson has
1,100 yards and seven touchdowns. His 225 carries are second in
the league, two behind Atlanta's Michael Turner.

ESPN: Drew Rosenhaus, agent for Cardinals RB Edgerrin James,
confirmed news reports that his client has asked to be released,
but the request was rejected. "We spoke with [GM] Rod Graves
because Edgerrin still believes he is a 1,000-yard back and he is
healthy and he is still capable of being a 1,000-yard back for a
team," Rosenhaus said. "He is not playing now, and there are teams
that are banged up at the RB position that he could help. We
didn't get the answer we were hoping for." Graves said on
Wednesday evening that Rosenhaus asked if the team would consider
releasing James "and we declined it as a consideration." "I
explained to him that we still saw Edgerrin as a valuable member
of our football team," Graves said. Rosenhaus said the request to
be released was made last week and that he will continue to speak
with Cardinals management. James has lost his starting job to
rookie Tim Hightower. Over the past 3 games, James has had only
three carries for 5 yards.

Cincinnati Enquirer: Bengals WR Chad Johnson "OCHO CINCO" will not
play in the Bengals game tonight at Pittsburgh because he violated
an undisclosed team rule announced this morning. The Bengals will
play at 8:15 p.m. in Pittsburgh at Heinz Field. Chris Henry is the
likely replacement for Ocho Cinco in the starting lineup opposite
wide receiver T.j. Houshmandzadeh. The Bengals had placed No. 3
wide receiver Antonio Chatman on the season-ending injured reserve
list Wednesday with a back injury. Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan
said the team would have no additional comment until after the
game about Ocho Cinco's benching.

St. Petersburg Times: We've learned some specifics about RB
Earnest Graham's ankle injury. It appears Graham has a high ankle
sprain and also sustained ligament damage, too. It's still
expected that he'll be placed on injured reserve before the week
is out. You might recall RB Michael Pittman suffered a very
similar injury last season at Indianapolis. He missed the next
five weeks before attempting a premature return that sidelined him
for another game. High ankle sprains can be very slow to heal,
particularly when there is ligament damage, as in Graham's case.

Times Picayune: The Saints replaced tailback Aaron Stecker (IR)
with free agent tailback Mike Bell, a 6-foot, 225-pounder who
spent the past two seasons with the Denver Broncos.

ESPN: Buccaneers leading rusher RB Earnest Graham will miss the
rest of the season after injuring his right ankle during last
week's victory against the Vikings.

Times Picayune: The Saints signed free agent fullback Darian Barnes (6-2, 240), a seventh-year veteran who was with Detroit and
Buffalo earlier in the year. Stecker's injury was expected to need
four to six weeks to heal, according to his agent Ronald Slavin.
With only six weeks remaining in the season, the Saints needed the
roster spot.

The Saints placed tight end Mark Campbell on injured reserve.

Dallas Morning News: Cowboys WR Miles Austin suffered a sprained
lateral collateral ligament in his knee in Sunday's win at
Washington and could miss the next 2-4 weeks. Austin suffered the
injury after his 8-yard catch in the fourth quarter. Austin, who
missed the first game of the season with a sprained medial
collateral ligament, has 12 catches for 255 yards. He was
splitting the No. 3 receiver role with Patrick Crayton. With
Austin hurt and Isaiah Stanback bothered by a shoulder injury, the
Cowboys have only three healthy receivers in Terrell Owens, Roy Williams and Crayton. Austin's absence could also force the
Cowboys to use another kick returner if Felix Jones does not
return this week.

Cleveland Plain Dealer: Browns HC Crennel praised Jerome Harrison
for his efforts, including a 72-yard touchdown run and a 21-yard
catch that led to a fourth-quarter field goal. Hopefully for the
Browns, their change-of-pace back won't miss games. "Jerome Harrison came through on the offensive side," said Crennel. "He
gave us a spark and really made a major contribution in the game
to help us win." He explained why Harrison isn't an every-down
back. "Jerome has a special ability and a talent," he said. "We
also have Jamal Lewis, who has special ability and talent. We have
Jason Wright who we use. We mix them all in. Jerome is very
patient as far as waiting his turn, and when he gets the
opportunity, he's trying to make the most of it. Last night, he
was tremendous. He really helped us."

The Bengals placed wide receiver Antonio Chatman on injured
reserve; signed offensive tackle Dennis Roland from the practice
squad.

Times Picayune: The Saints placed tailback Aaron Stecker on
injured reserve Tuesday after he aggravated his lingering hamsting
injury in Sunday's 30-20 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Dallas Morning News: On Monday, Jason Witten said his fractured
rib was sore. On Tuesday, the Pro Bowl tight end said he was
feeling a little better. "The thing is, I need to avoid those
direct blows," said Witten, who took a painkilling injection
before Sunday's game at Washington. Redskins safety LaRon Landry
hit Witten on the sideline after an 11-yard catch, but Witten said
he did not believe teams will target his ribs. Witten has two
catches in the two games since suffering the injury against Tampa
Bay on Oct. 26.

ESPN: With Bucs RB Earnest Graham out, Warrick Dunn moves into the
featured tailback role. He will be backed up by Carnell "Cadillac"
Williams, who hasn't played in a game since September 2007 because
of a serious knee injury.

Pittsburgh Gazette: Steelers Tight end Heath Miller likely will
return to play against the Cincinnati Bengals after missing the
past two games with a high ankle sprain. Miller went through a
full practice yesterday and is not on the injury report this week.
He would be the only player to return from the injured.
Cornerbacks Bryant McFadden and Deshea Townsend remain out,
although McFadden is practicing and shooting for a possible return
next week. "Really, we're a team in relatively good health at this
time," Tomlin said. "We came out of Sunday evening's game pretty
good."

Cleveland Plain Dealer: Other Browns injured in the game include
safety Sean Jones (ankle), running back Jason Wright (neck
stinger) and running back Jerome Harrison (hamstring). "Right now
we don't know exactly their status," said Crennel. "We have to
evaluate it as the week goes on." He said fullback Lawrence Vickers will return to practice this week in hopes of playing.

Tampa Tribune: Bucs running back Earnest Graham injured his right
ankle during a victory over the Minnesota Vikings, and coach Jon
Gruden said the running back's season "could be in jeopardy."

Baltimore Sun: Ravens RB Willis Mcgahee'sright ankle injury does
not appear to be serious.

Houston Chronicle: Coach Gary Kubiak admitted for the first time
Monday the Texans were worried that QB Matt Schaub had suffered a
season-ending knee injury at Minnesota. In the 28-21 loss to the
Vikings on Nov. 2, Schaub was hit low two times by defensive end
Jared Allen, who was fined $50,000 by the NFL. Schaub left the
game with a torn MCL in his left knee. Kubiak said a day later
that Schaub would be out for two to four weeks. While giving an
update on Schaub at his weekly news conference Monday, Kubiak
disclosed the team's concerns that the QB might not return this
season. "I've been told today that they expect him to throw this
week, so that's very positive," Kubiak said. "(That) doesn't mean
he's going to be moving around. "I think they'll bring him out
there at some point this week and let him throw the ball around
(and) set his feet. I guess I'm beginning to feel more confident
that he'll play this year, but we'll see." That's the first time
anyone with the Texans expressed concern that Schaub might be lost
for the season.
