Guillotine League Week 10 Waiver Wire Options & FAAB Breakdown

Big congrats if you’ve made it this far in your respective guillotine leagues! Unless it’s a newer league that started later in the season, your roster is probably looking a lot different than it was in Week 1.

Now that we’ve reached double-digit weeks, we have to keep evolving our rosters, and guys who were “fine” just a few weeks ago can get you chopped now, as rosters get collectively better across the leagues.

Before I get into Week 10, here’s some pertinent information on guillotine leagues.

How it works:

  • Set up and draft your team just like traditional fantasy football
  • Each week the lowest-scoring team gets eliminated
  • All of the players from the eliminated team become free agents
  • A weekly FAAB bidding war starts among the remaining teams
  • Survive the chop and be crowned champion

Because it's a survivor-style format, you can start leagues any week of the season for as long as you want!

Get in now!

There were some big names on the most chopped list in Week 9 as several elite players were injured during their respective contests.

Here are the top 10 players chopped across all positions and the percentage of leagues where they were axed.

Top 10 Most Chopped Players, Week 9
Team Position Player Chopped%
PHI WR A.J. Brown 20.5%
LAR WR Puka Nacua 19.9%
ARI QB Kyler Murray 19.8%
ARI WR Marvin Harrison Jr. 17.6%
NO WR Chris Olave 17.5%
LAR RB Kyren Williams 17.1%
IND RB Jonathan Taylor 17.0%
CIN WR Ja'Marr Chase 16.6%
WAS RB Brian Robinson 16.4%
NYJ RB Breece Hall 16.3%

Quarterback

Only six QBs were among the top 10 most chopped players last week, which was down two from Week 8.

Most Chopped QBs, Week 9
Team Position Player Chopped%
ARI QB Kyler Murray 19.8%
DET QB Jared Goff 11.7%
BUF QB Josh Allen 11.2%
WAS QB Jayden Daniels 10.7%
BAL QB Lamar Jackson 10.7%
HOU QB C.J. Stroud 10.1%

Kyler Murray is the QB8 on the season but sits as the QB13 in fantasy points per game in 2024. He’s coming off a stinker of a contest where he posted just 4.8 fantasy points and neglected to find the end zone for the first time all season - hence the high chop percentage. Murray has a bye next week which doesn’t sweeten his pot but he does have a decent schedule from Weeks 12-17, with four matchups against defenses ranked 21st or worse in QB aFPA. There should be better options, but he’s likely to be added for $5 or less.

Josh Allen, Jayden Daniels, and Lamar Jackson were among the top QBs axed last week and are all worth chunky bids to secure high-performing QB status for your rosters. Be prepared that Allen and Daniels have yet to have their bye weeks if you’re going to spend a large amount of FAAB on either, but Allen should get somewhere in the $150-$200 range while Daniels may go for $100-$150. Jackson is worth $200, maybe more depending you who has what left in your league.

Running Backs

Within the Top 50 most chopped players, 18 of them were RBs in Week 9, up just one from 17 last week.

Most Chopped RBs, Week 9
Team Position Player Chopped%
LAR RB Kyren Williams 17.1%
IND RB Jonathan Taylor 17.0%
WAS RB Brian Robinson 16.4%
NYJ RB Breece Hall 16.3%
DET RB Jahmyr Gibbs 14.2%
BUF RB James Cook 14.1%
MIN RB Aaron Jones 14.1%
PIT RB Najee Harris 13.8%
SEA RB Kenneth Walker 13.3%
GB RB Josh Jacobs 13.3%
DET RB David Montgomery 12.8%
HOU RB Joe Mixon 11.7%
LV RB Alexander Mattison 11.6%
CHI RB D'Andre Swift 11.2%
JAC RB Tank Bigsby 10.7%
CLE RB Nick Chubb 10.7%
SF RB Christian McCaffrey 10.5%
NYG RB Tyrone Tracy 10.5%

Kyren Willams is a gift for those who can add him this week, as his 22.6 touches per game sit third among RBs in 2024 and he’s producing as the RB7 in PPR scoring on a per-game basis. The LA RB has already experienced his rest week so is worthy of a monster FAAB bid of $275.

Jonathan Taylor may be the only Indy player who performs better with Anthony Richardson under center, and after last week’s dud from Joe Flacco, the sophomore may be back at the helm sometime soon. Taylor is RB11 in PPR points per contest thus far and should continue his fantasy RB1 ways down the stretch. Despite his Week 14 bye, Taylor is worthy of a $150-$200 bid this week if available.

Brian Robinson Jr. was likely the third-highest chopped RB last week as a result of his Sunday morning inactive status and folks possibly missing the news. He could be back this week but doesn't have a fantastic matchup, with an even worse one next week against the Eagles. Robinson isn’t ideal at this stage of the guillotine season due to his lack of receptions in a PPR format. He can likely be had for a relatively cheap bid of around $30-$50.

Breece Hall is another top back who still has a bye week ahead of him but could be a solid addition to any roster moving forward. He’s averaging 17.7 touches per game and is getting most of the passing down and goal-line work over rookie Braelon Allen. Throw $150 down on Hall.

Some other appealing names on this chopped list are the two Detroit RBs, Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery. From Week 11 on, six of their seven contests are against defensive units that rank 19th or worse in RB aFPA. Gibbs should garner $125ish while Monty is worth a bid of around $75.

Standard Waiver RBs

Wide Receivers

Twenty WRs were among the 50 most chopped players after the Week 9 games finished.

Most Chopped WRs, Week 9
Team Position Player Chopped%
PHI WR A.J. Brown 20.5%
LAR WR Puka Nacua 19.9%
ARI WR Marvin Harrison Jr. 17.6%
NO WR Chris Olave 17.5%
CIN WR Ja'Marr Chase 16.6%
ATL WR Drake London 14.8%
JAC WR Brian Thomas Jr. 13.4%
KC WR Xavier Worthy 13.0%
HOU WR Nico Collins 12.8%
DAL WR CeeDee Lamb 12.5%
CHI WR D.J. Moore 11.9%
MIA WR Tyreek Hill 11.9%
SF WR Deebo Samuel 11.8%
SEA WR DK Metcalf 11.6%
IND WR Michael Pittman 11.2%
NYG WR Malik Nabers 10.9%
MIA WR Jaylen Waddle 10.7%
PIT WR George Pickens 10.7%
CIN WR Tee Higgins 10.6%
TB WR Mike Evans 10.4%

A.J. Brown is the WR9 in PPR scoring per tilt in 2024 and gave us a scare last week, but appears to be alright in the knee department with a chance to even play this week. He’s beyond his bye week which helps when spending big money on a waiver add and has a favorable remaining schedule with just one defense ranking inside the top 14 in PPR aFPA to enemy WRs. Brown should cost anywhere from $200-$300 this week.

Puka Nacua’s ejection last Sunday shafted fantasy managers, particularly in guillotines leagues where he was axed on 19.9% of teams. If he’s out there in yours, the Rams WR is worth grabbing for the long haul but he’ll likely run you at least $200.

Marvin Harrison Jr. has been in this column a lot this season and he’s here again thanks to a 3.4 PPR outing last week. At this point, the rookie is just too difficult to trust and a date with Sauce Gardner this week doesn't help his case. If you want him, please don’t spend more than $5.

Somehow Ja'Marr Chase wasn't on the receiving end of one of five TD passes from Joe Burrow last week, and that was without Tee Higgins on the field. Chase is still one of the best WRs in the game but he does have a mixed-bag schedule remaining and a bye in Week 12. Don’t empty the bag for him, but a generous bid of $200-$250 is appropriate.

Standard Waiver WRs

Tight Ends

There were six TEs among the 50 most chopped players last week which is one more than last week’s.

Most Chopped TEs, Week 9
Team Position Player Chopped%
SF TE George Kittle 15.8%
ATL TE Kyle Pitts 15.3%
DET TE Sam LaPorta 12.5%
ARI TE Trey McBride 11.0%
CLE TE David Njoku 10.8%
BAL TE Mark Andrews 10.3%

George Kittle was the most chopped TE last week because he was off, but he’s been a monster this season, averaging 18.0 in PPR scoring per tilt. He’s worth loosening those purse strings for, to the tune of $75 if you want to set and forget the TE position for the rest of 2024.

Standard Waiver TEs

Taysom Hill (86.8% available) - $2
T.J. Hockenson (40.4% available) -$5
